please have a look at my equipment:
EverQuest II Players

For the next upgrades, I'm currently looking for...
...Eagle's Talon (Epic Weapon Quest)
...Earring of the Wastes Hunter (JW Quests)
...Trooper Scale Boots (JW)
...Traitors Crown (PR)
...Coiled Steel Shoulderguards (PR)
...Maestro's Flame (MMC)
...Buckler of the Howler (FTH)

But there are some question I've got regarding that. Please keep in mind: my RF can do T8.1 and is starting T8.2 right now (Temple clear w/o the Overking up to now as we did not have the Pawbuster drop last time we've been there) AND always varying raid groups so I can't compare dps parses from one raid with another.

...as I'm whiping the floor with Maestro Kerberos for quite some days without getting the drop, is the Flame really an upgrade over the Trakanon's Tooth?
...is the BotH a worthwhile upgrade over the Voracious Shield?
...should I use the Cloak of Marr instead of the Cloak of the First Son?
...what could you recommend instead of the belt for haste in case I can get the Energized Protector's Shackle from PR?
...any other recommendations?

Cross Howler off your list and go buy a Str imbued ring. Higher DPS proc amount plus Str proc also. All around a better option.

Maestro's is worth getting if you can con people into helping you farm for it (I gave up on it months ago). If you get lucky and get one pair it up with Voracious Shield or Croaking Dirk.

Cloak of Marr is better then First Son.

i still say the buckler is better than the shield with a str ring.
2 crit or what ever doesnt do shit compared to 25 dps

Buckler will proc more consistently, but the STR ring isn't a bad option to grab right now. Once you have all of the pieces you can possibly find it will be easier for you to determine which sets do more for you than other sets.

I also like the Leviathan set legs better than the Kodux War Leggings.

Go with Voldrath as upgrade to ET, got it recently and noticed my dps has gone up nicely.
