if the classes mentioned in the op are getting on top of you your doing something wrong. you should make a point to start a fight with distance, and always use fettering poisons (with 5 points into the AA on conservation)...that should solve most of your brigand/ assassin problems.
Agi/ Int is the way to go...you could always put points into sta when your AA cap is 70 in the predator tree, but personally im going wisdom...if another scout or a well played bruiser ever gets on top of you your probably already dead.
