my cast order:

Single mob encounter

Vulnerability
Bloody reminder
Focus
Auto attack
Vulnerable arrow
Blame arrow
auto attack
Triple
Rear
auto attack
Shower (if up)
amazing
auto attack
Exploding
leg shot
auto attack

By this time, focus is done and i start doin sets of 3 melee CA's or 2 melee's and leg shot in between auto attacks. usually mob is dead about 15-20sec later.

AE encounter:

lay trap b4 pull
mob is pulled
focus/surveil
Fittest survival
auto attack
shower
exploding arrow
blame arrow
auto attack

after that, it's usually the same rotation i do above with a few tweaks, but that's the jist of it.

OK, so after reading what people were putting up and talking with Azleya this is what I am running. It is a change from what I was doing and made a big improvement. Last night's trip into VP from front door to looking at Druushk (including Kluzen & Ekron) and also included laying dead an entire fight cause tank wanted me to reach out and bow pull the mob and when I turned around fell into the damn lava, and a few deaths with slow rezzing, my ZW wnet up by almost 1k since my last trip.

Then I get into throwing in some of my melee CAs and point blank, etc, then look for what's up.

I try and squeeze in 3 ranged CAs in between Ranged AA, but feels like I am delaying my AA, but when I try 2, seems like I am waiting a bit for AA. So its like I am at 2.5 CAs between AA.

Questions...

1. Should I try throwing in an insta cast melee CA in slot 3, or would it be a waste (especially while Focus is running)?
2. While focus is running, should I worry more about getting that third Ranged CA in or making sure my Ranged AA goes off or just burn through CAs and if a Ranged AA goes off great, as long as I get the CAs in while it is running??

Congrats! You have worked out a good cast order! Dont worry about 3 ranged arts between AAs, 2 is good.

1. Exclamation points for relatively mundane subjects are annoying and remind me of certain quests designed by overly happy devs.

2. You really should have time for 3 fast-casting CA's between auto bows if there is no lag. You should figure out for yourself which combinations of 3 fit.

Actually he didn't figure it out for himself! He copied what I told him to do, which is fine! Regardless, I stand by my statement that exclamation points are fucking annoying except in the most extreme situations! See how fucking irritating this is?!

Based on my limited experience raiding on a ranger this expansion (been mostly MT'ing), I'd prolly even cut out the defense debuff at this point on trash mobs at least. Cast and immediately cancel focus aim (as Safana suggested in another thread) is prolly also a good idea at this point, but only for the most high-end rangers who are ridiculously high or outright capped on all that shit.

The casting and immediately canceling Focus, what is exactly the benefit to us? I tried that to see what it did and it only left the group portion of our buff running, which I believe, does not apply to us.

It does (the accuracy), so you have it running for up to 20sec out of 1min (tso set bonus and harmonization from a troub) instead of 20sec out of 1min20sec. That strat requires having high crit, dps and haste without focus aim.

Ahhh, OK. I didnt think we got any benefit from the group portion of that buff. A few more gear upgrades and I may be able to try that effectively.
