Yeah I think most guilds have a tank pref rule. Our guild runs a small roster and the warden/guard/mage(warlock iirc) are 3,2,1 piece ahead of me on the set so it actually will work out fine that way. I put the fabled +8 parry on mine. only thing that looked relatively useful.

I try and put WIS adorns on slots that have less than optimum adornments, just to help elevate my resists. One thing I have noticed is that when I put on my best DPS gear (do not have my VP pieces yet), my resists, other than maybe nox, suck. I usually have to switch out 3-4 pieces of jewelry on the Druushk fight for that damn heat AOE. Plus +WIS adorn is treasured and cheap, for that particular slot.

I am not sure of the benefits (i.e. actuall resist increase) that the wis does. The parry at least helps with the damage recieved from melee. Better chance to not being hit. In raid alot of grp/raid buffs up my resists so the +16 not gonna be much when wis is increased with spells. When soloing the parry is good as the elemental effects aren't as powerfull and will not one shot you, however the damage you take from melee will have a lesser chance of actually landing.

Any one else care to elaborate?
