3. Auto attack damage: It doesn't happen too often, but you can auto attack for 2k damage at end tier, and can also double attack as well. You can also auto attack at 0m ranged with your epic bow.


fabled epics should be hitting more than 2k auto attack.....11k was my highest 17 is my current with myth

On blue servers maybe but this is a discussion about pvp, i am the best geared ranger on nagafen and I still hit for 500-600 a lot of the time in pvp. then again i one shot people to.

With the right gear you can go defensive as a ranger and survive a lot, with defensive spec and a shield i am sitting at 66% avoidance, 60% mit and almost 12k HP, but the proc on offensive stance is massive in pvp as well, you need to be conscious of what you are doing and stance dance depending on the situation. Parry buff is INVALUABLE as a ranger, combine that with the faggy parry belt and you are pretty ridonkulous.

I am exile and do not have access to pvp gear but the crit mit on it is equally insane, at 30% crit mit you cannot be critted on and the more you get the better it is.

We'll I'm lvl 24 right now and locked. I am maxing my AA then unlocking to lvl and spend the AA. I am all the way to poise in the AGI line and I have the Survival Instincts maxed with 5 points and 5 into Pathfinding. (I like to run fast so this is a must for me.)

Where do I go next??? STR line for Melee Crits, INT for Poison or on the Ranger Tree do I enhance poison or arrows???

I agree Defense stance, shield some parry adornments and I can survive pretty well. I would like to tinker to get heart stoppers for feign death.

So would it be wise to start off with the offensive stance lay all the arrows into someone as possible then macro a defensive stance and add a shield for close combat??

I must say I love the ranger they are alot of fun to play.

honestly i dont know how to spec in lower tiers, i heard intoxication is pretty good low levels. Ive been at max level so long i dont remember what it was like leveling up.

After AGI line, i would go down either INT or the Multi-shot line. 8% extra double attack and +damage on your CA's or a decent dot that also decreases skills of an opponent with an annoying blur either works.

And ya...ranger is fun, until asslick decides to nerf them once again

Would you recommend OFF or DEF stance most of the time in PVP??

If you still haven't decided on xmuting vs tinkering and not higher than 250 xmuting switch to tinker. over 250 xmuting and then you start to loose some more than the benefit.
Also you can start out hidden in OFF, then as the mob/toon closes switch to defensive. this gives alot of chance for the off stance advantages, especially if you slow them. Then as the close just disable off and go into neutral stance or switch to defensive.

If you are ganking ( the thing rangers are built for and excel at most in pvp) then you should be in offensive, if someone closes in on you then it might be a good idea to go defensive.

Pudaan is right, that things are completely different in PvP. Pudaan, do you still have trouble with swashies? God knows I do... For years, Swashies were the top in PvP, now maybe SKs have taken the throne. IMO Rangers are built for DPS, but Swashies are built for PvP. Who knows what it will be in 2 months...

Swashies are very easy with 100% parry spec. Rangers are all about gear though and im pretty decked out to the point where i have an easy time against any class, while rangers in lesser gear have trouble with a lot of classes. Mages are harder to kill then scouts now because manashield and casting range.

Sks are very easy as long as you dont eat their auto attack, or the SK has very good gear.

I dont know why people complain about SK's when pallys are insanely more overpowered. If you are a pally in the right gear you are flat out UNKILLABLE by any class in a one v one.
