I made my ranger 3 months ago, had an SK before that as my main.
But as my old guild were overpopulated with tanks i made a ranger.
From a pretty fresh ranger perspective, I think its a pretty fun class to play. The issue with rangers as i see it, is that we're very gear dependent. Maybe more than most classes are.
The fact is that we do relatively to other classes very much of our dps from autoattacks.
I joined a raidguild a month ago, and I still dont have my Myth. (getting close now though, only have Phara dar left) But in a good group setup (in raid) I zw parse about 4.5k. Sometimes I get 6-7k on certain pulls. My gear is basically 2 parts of shard tier2, 2 parts TSO raid gear, 2 parts VP gear, and 1 part Shard tier3 (WoE). and mostly legendary jewelry. Basically, im ok geared in my point of view. Not uber not sucky. And the fact that I as a ranger cant beat a good geared + myth weapon healer or bard is to me very strange. I dont contribute anything at all that help the raid, the only reason to bring a Ranger to a raid or group is for PURE dps and dps only.
And the fact that you arent attractive to any group or raid without myth + full fable is pretty annoying.
