Why the FUCK is the ranger's master strike not ranged?

Rhetorical question, really, but it's really annoying me and my baby ranger.

Yea it does not really matter - you are in melee range anyways (or should be).

hehe would hardly call it a burden. No I dont bother with melee range because the mobs often die too fast to bother. Then again I haven't been in too many groups with him yet, hopefully that will change soon.

I can live without it, but it would be nice (not to mention it would make a lot more sense, you don't give casters melee master strikes; not quite an accurate comparison as rangers have SOME melee attacks, I know).

Does the fighter "abilities" work on ranged attacks? I have a low level guard, but I can't remember testing this.
