Default Dual Boxing as a Ranger

I am thinking of getting another account to dual box with my Ranger because there is a lot of solo/group low level content that I did not do and maybe when that toon is fully grown it can be useful in raids.
So my question is what class should I pick to complement my Ranger? A Pally, a Mystic, a defiler, a conjurer, an Illu, a Warden ?
I am asking for your advice if you already dual box, I am quite new at it.

Thank you.

Corwin

I DB with a templar. Of course I am lvl 80 and mythed on both. I also have the stalker blade and shield of knowlege so my dps is good while defense is good as well. Templar adds great buffs and repent keeps the ranger green. best combo is Ranger and whatever and Templar and whatever. So greatest would be ranger and templar and whatever.

Edit: if ranger is mythed you can auto attack most mobs to death and just play the templar during combat and follow while moving.

i kinda box with my zerk. i say box as in i pull with zerk and let him get beat on while ranger does his thing.

Pally might be good idea for the heals and survivability too.

Could do a dirge (lvling one atm myself) and dps is a nice boost so you dont really have to tank much just waste it before it gets close. Dirges are always sort after in raids so you will always have fun there too.

A) If you want want to have a char auto follow only and you don't plan on playing him much, I would suggest Dirge or Illy
BUT
B) If you plan on actually controlling both chars I would do a healer (any will do, Mystic or Templar buffs well for combat-art dpsers tho).

The latter combo will allow you to tackle harder stuff eventually, but the Illy/Dirge relieves a lot of extra work because you don't need to control him to get his main advantages (buffs, both leaning toward melee/CA-dps)

I dual box with a pally. Holds agro well enough to tank for myself if I don't go crazy and decent heals for a duo. The ability to rez also comes in handy.

Pally with amends seems like a good choice, but to me it seems ranger would be the biggest pain in the ass to box with, not fun

I box my Ranger and Mystic. Both myth`d with a bunch of tso gear on both. Usually just kite like usual with the ranger and set a macro for some wards / bolster / speed-reuse buff / so on so forth from the mystic.

I also have a lower lvl illy i use that i got TC and IA on. That a lot of fun too.

Thank you all for your input, it is very helpful.
I am leaning more towards an Illusionist or a Dirge at the moment because they are also in demand in raid, which will make it easier to get them properly equipped.
I was also playing with the idea of a Conjuror or a Necromancer for the Tank pet, but I do not know if it is very practical to dual box.

Thanks again, any idea is welcome.

I was boxing with my necro. Was fun to tank with the pet then let the ranger go to town on the mob. Was also handy to have FD and rez with the necro for those times when I FUBAR'd the entire operation.
Pretty much useless to box after level 65-70 though. Unless you are just farming shards or something.

It isn't so bad up to level 70. After that the game shifts and boxing is just not practical. At level 45 I was able to box the ranger and the necro in a group and nobody could tell. That's when it was just pure fun to do it. After that it started becoming more work than fun, until around 70 I gave it up.
