So I picked up the Ranger again after a year or so and leveled him up to 70 and started to do some KoS raiding. I heard Rangers are doing some insane DPS and I'm curious if I'm right on path for that when I get geared up/better bow and etc.

Right now I'm doing 1100-1300 zone wide in KoS raid instances, range varies from the group make up.

I'm using the Torn Ligament Bow with makeshift ammo (can't afford the good stuff). If EQ2Players was working for me I'd link my gear, sitting at just above 500 STR self buffed.

So am I right where I should be or am I slacking?

On top of a good overall well balanced str/int gear with a haste item and some crit% the biggest impact on your dps has:

Bow
Masters
Arrows (t8 or field point for raiding imo) & gm caustic
proc gear (including 1h+shield)

Its impossible to say what you "should" be parsing since theres to many factors involved that u didnt mention. In a decent setup with your bow, makeshioft arrows id say your dps is about where it should be, but not at its potential. Upgrading CAs to master will up your dps alot, so will a slower, harder hitting bow. For gm poison u can easily add another 200+ dps at least and some decent arrows would make you notice a difference.

I'll try to be more specific with my setup then.

I have 80-some AA's right now, I have Double Arrow and Extention in EoF along with AGI max'd out in KoS and I have 8 points into spell crits in INT right now. I plan to spend my next 5 points in the EoF tree for the Caustic Poison increase in damage.

I always have GM Caustic poison up when I'm raiding, STR is a little over 500 like I said and my INT is a little over 200.

All my bow CA's are at least at Adept III, I have Veiled Fire and Confounding Arrow at M1. My melee CA's are in the Adept I to Adept III range.

I'm trying to reach my potential DPS for my gear, and I know it's limited by the bow and ammo so I'm trying to squeeze out everything I can.

Self buffed I have 70 Haste and 28 DPS, but this will be lowered to 68 Haste when I find the Kithicor gloves since I am moving my haste from my hand slot (Currently using the EoF treasured 25 Haste) to my waist where I already have a Flawless Dragonhide Belt (23 Haste).

I've been playing with my CA order to try to find one that works for me, however I save my Focus Aim (Took the M2 of this) and Devitilizing Arrow + Triple Volley + Rain of Arrows for when dispatch hits.

I don't have the same group setup in every raid. Sometimes I'll get a dirge, other times I'll get an illusionist and other times all I have is a brawler. Even when I don't have the ideal setup I'll manage to parse between 1100-1300 zone wide because basically in every fight I'll have Focus Aim or Killing Instinct up.

Just curious; have you tried the Ghostly Bow of Bylze from the Claymore line ?

With its long delay, you can get a few CA's in nicely between the AA. It hits hard, and when it crits, it really hits hard.

You will take a small stat hit if you use this bow, but for me the raw damage the bow can do outweighs the stat loss.

Also, I was initially concerned that the level on the bow might reduce the hit % against higher level mobs, but so far I've found it hits as consistently as any other bow I have.

(I also have the Torn Ligament, Wurm Destroyer, Grizzfazzle. Raincaller for solo/group content, and Searing Missles for long pulls.)

Only other advice, since it wasn't clear from your previous post ... try to maximize your ranged crit rate by any means possible.

Good luck on getting a better bow ... I'm in the same boat ATM ...

To answer your original question, I'm parsing about the same. Mostly mastered, and probably in better gear, but with less than ideal raiding AA choices. I suspect I could parse higher in raids, but it's hard to push that limit due to other factors.

In a KoS raid instance, you should be hitting for 2000+ zone wide. If not, then time to upgrade your gear.

I meant what should I be parsing with my current set up. I'm raiding KoS to gear up, that's the whole idea.

Granted I've done 2-3.5k on some encounters , just have no idea to parse zone wide over 2k right now. Tips on how to do that would be awesome.

parsing that high has a lot more factors than just yourself, if you dont have some ideal buffs or if your raid has like 8 tanks and mobs arent dying somewhat quick personal dps seems to go down. i probably average 1600-2200 and i have some nice stuff. But we spread buffs out pretty far and we have a lot of dps around 2k instead of having a few around 3k. i think talking about a dps number is like taking it out of context, especially with a lot of eof being somewhat interesting fights and not total burn down. I would use that torn ligament bow like full time, raincaller has its uses, but grizzfazzle and wurmdestroyer arent good imo. Ive dont pretty good with wurmdestroyer but i dont think it could ever beat raincaller. i got a better bow before unrest came out so i never tried the torn ligament but it has more max damage than raincaller so it should be better. i would say raincaller and adept3s you should be 1200-1500 in most cases. try to get a dirge or illusionist with illusionary arms. A lot of guilds ive been in put me in the 4th group which was always the extra random guys who didnt go together at all. Rangers get shafted on buffs by non-hardcore raiding guilds ive been in

It's hard to tell you what you need to improve without seeing which parts of your dps are lacking. The best idea I can think of is taking a zonewide parse and post the all outgoing damage section from ACT, it will at least help us tell you what you need to focus more on. Heres my last HoS zonewide from like a week ago, and while I know you have different gear and your damage %'s will be a little off, it should give you some idea as to what you need to be focusing on.
EDIT: Oh, and I was testing the iceforged sai/maestros flame combination for this night rather than kilij/uktryl's which I usually use.

Wish i had a DIrge in my grp all the time nice to see that Crypt's revenge is high up that list.. i'll do some figures as well just to see if things are comparative. I'm using mayong bow atm not had a woushi bow reciepe drop but i'm looking forward to parsing between the two to see which one works out better.

How often are you using mortal reminder? i try most fights but i'm not a keen melee ranger ok i'll use longblad rangers blade mortal reminder infact most but in HoS i just stay back to avoid KB and general lag tbh.
