Default Bow Advice

I am currently using Rain Caller, i am not in a raid guild, so might be a bit before i get my hands on a better raid quality bow.

Last night, by complete accident, i got this bow:

\aITEM -505207938 427673478:Bloodstained Bow of Piercing\/a

(136-409, 7.0 delay... cant seem to link pic)

my question is this: for raids, would it be worth adorning this (cant adorn Rain Caller) and using it? or is the Rain Caller proc itself more damage than the 10dps adorn i would put on this?

I am not rolling in the dough, so unless its a serious upgrade, i dont really want to spend the money on an adorn for this bow.

I am interested in raid information, not group/solo.

thanks.

get a torn ligament longbow from unrest, has a decent DR at like 91.3, 28 str/int 60 hp 50 power, and procs a 675 reduction to hate upon successful ranged attack.. should help your dps, and gives you that rate reduction if you have a crappy tank

my understanding of melee dps is limited, but wouldn't torn ligament bow with its smaller dmg spread and lower delay, actually do worse dps?

not generally if you are soloing, or in most group setups, the only reason a high delay weapon is so much better is because we get hasted in any compotent group, that being said, when we have temp buffs on, the longer delay would be much better.. but in this scenario comparing it to the rain caller, i would go with the torn ligament for the majority of group setups.. again, its all partial to what your group makeup is

I am talking purely for raids, I won't ever use anything other than RC in groups or solo, simply because the stun component is totally insane vs. heroic mobs.

I've also heard that the stun component of RC may interfere with other class' stuns on raids and is undesireable. I've never actually heard this from a raid leader, but like I say, I've been raiding as a defiler for the past 2 years, so I know next to nothing about raiding as melee/dps.

the only time a stun from RC is unwanted is for certain encounters when timing a stun can help a lot, so for everything else it should be fine,
i misread your initial post, thinking it was not for raiding, sorry
then if you are in a group with a haste buffer like an illu, definately go with the higher delay, just gotta make sure you see where your delay is at, so you can time it properly
