And don't forget how much so many of you loved hanging that over our heads. Wasn't it the moto of many many guilds in KoS - ranger?? wtf would we want / bring one of those on a raid for. And if you can't deal with not being #1 dps king anymore go do what so many pussified rangers did in KoS and betray.

You miss understand my complaint..

I care less that the ranger is over me.. its the reason why.. broken mechanics shouldn't be justification on why someone is better than someone else.

Skill, Gear, Spells should quanify why someone is better DPS than another.

SO, just because the hit % is broken don't get all pissy Crychtonn.

Also, I don't care the state of any class that WAS, I am concerned about from now on =)

Just for the record, rangers are one of the few classes i do not have a problem with if they out dps'd my own in 100% of the situations in game. They really do offer jack shit to a raid besides dps, so why shouldnt they?

BTW it's not a broken game mechanic. They just put to high of a + to hit % on the arrows.

Because from what I read in the brigand section... you wanted to buy FSB for that very reason.

After looking at your gear Johnathon, I can see why you would want to buy an item like that, but honestly, after looking at all the rangers in your guild, that would probably only be a temperary solution to the situation. Group make up is extremely essential to any scout class. Sure, you might be in the same group as that ranger, but just because you're in the same group doesnt mean you have the same benefits.

I dont claim to know what kind of parses you, or your rangers run, if I happened a guess, I would put you somewhere in the 2-2.2k range, while your rangers are hitting 2.3-2.5K. Just a guess based off the gear ya'll are wearing and its probably wrong. All I can speak for is what I raid with. I spent the better part of KoS trying to keep up with Brigands (in fact its one of the reasons I rolled a brig). Many guilds were simply discarding rangers all together because you could easily replace thier DPS with a brigand, and get so much more out of the deal. Dispatch, Amazing Reflexes (yeah I know its shit now) and a pelthora of other debuffs.

That being said, our guild currently runs with 1 Swashy, 1 Brigand, 2 Assassins, 1 Ranger (we had 2, but he left) A warlock and a Wizard. Recently we got a new Swashy, but prior to that, and my getting my hands on a Rigid Scale, it wasnt unusual to see the Me, the Swashy and the Lock all around 2.8-3k. Our Brigand is pretty damn good in my opinion, and with the right group can generally parse our around 2.5-2.8... Ive seen our assassins parse pretty damn well too, but again, it really comes down to what group they are in.

If I were you Jonhathon, I would worry about clearing content rather then trying to fuck over rangers for the second time in this expansion. Ive seen some pretty nice parses from the brigand section, so you really dont have much of a complaint DPS wise.

Finally, why dont you roll a ranger and see what its like to miss an 8-10k Auto attack thats on a 3.5-5s delay and see how that effects your overall DPS. Oh thats right, you might miss a lot more in the long run, but your dps is going to stay fairly consistant. A ranger blows one auto attack and their pretty much fucked.

I do 1.8 - 2.6k and the ranger does 2.6 - 4k (rarely does 2k)

Yeah, i need better gear...

Oh well.. for what i have i do pretty respectable dps... Just trying to do more with what i have. and if i had some way to hit more often.. i'd do it.. =)

oh well.. the +to hit is a bit off.. but fuck it... eventually i'll get up there =)

I'd be all for a sharpening of weapons mechanic or something to add a hitbonus to melee. It sucks to have max skill and miss that much.

Or maybe have different kinds of weapons have better chances of hitting, ie fabled hits more than legendary, etc. I'd prefer it be expendable too though, just so yall can share in our pain of paying out the ass for dps. Granted its better now, there is still a lot of debt to my name because of countless stacks of arrows.
