So i just resently dusted off my dads old ranger and was parsing what i thought to be pretty well considering he is in quest/some instance gear. He is sitting at 108 MA and i can get around a 30k parse on an epic training dummy (which i know isnt accurate but still) and topped my first RW. I am not familiar with any of the CA's though and usually just try to do PFT, hidden shot, coverage, sniper shot, then cast sneak attack and emberstrike/rangers blade whenever they're up and EW whenever it triggers. I feel like this isnt the best way because as i look at top parses, sneak attack isnt used anywhere near as much as i use it.
I was just wondering if anyone could give me a basic casting order, or even a priority list so i know which CA's to use when up, and also i would be glad for any other advice you guys can give =)
PFT Coverage and sniper arent up so often so this is what i do, Wait until auto attack is about 75% done and use backshot/ any hidden shot. Let auto Attack go off cast coverage then sniper and squeeze in one CA if you can. By that time you maybe have 6seconds left so spam all your nukes like storm of arrows stream etc. Then cast focus aim and do all your little combat arts like snaring shot, blamed, triple shot. If you speced right you should have sneak attack emberstrike and rangers blade hit twice. Bloody reminder our CA has a great dot that im sure does top parse anymore but will still give you a little boost.
Thats my basic CA order and if you want a screenie of my UI you can have it![]()
Awesome thanks, this is exactly what i wanted! also, is stream/storm of arrows still as important on single targets? Also, when sniper shot is down, and PFT/coverage come up which CA's should i use for it? Also a pic or your UI would help a ton as my dads spells are all over the place
If you can, precast Killing Instinct (although in groups/raids you're likely capped) and Honing Reflexes. On incoming,
1. Ranged attack
2. Focus Aim
3. PFT
4. Ember strike
5. Ranger's Blade
6. Autoattack.
7. Bloody Reminder / Hidden shot
8. Autoattack
9. Coverage/Snipershot
10. Autoattack
11. Long-cooldown skill, emberstrike when up
12. Autoattack
Something like that. Not sure the timing in that is completely right, because I'm recalling from memory, but you want to get off your stealth skills during PFT imho, and make sure your bloody reminder is running.
Alright cool, and im guessing i want bloody reminder to run its full duration?
Well, the duration is 24 seconds and the casting time is like 25.2, so that's not usually an issue anyway, but yes.![]()
ifyour a good ranger you should be in that "sweet" spot where you can melee and range to max your dps. Right now im pulling off like 70k+ without melee and im warming the floor because of my crit mit and i do pretty good. Although my CM jumped 50% so i might stay alive now
That shit is so cluttered.
