I see some rangers make comments on the use of macros to increase DPS. Anyone care to go into that a little bit please. Does it really increase dps or just does it make the AA timing and ca timing less tedious?
See you ALWAYS want ranged auto attack to go off never melee auto attack.
So on a macro you can put spell/ability then hit command add step and put /autoattack2 This is a picture of how its done
IT mostly just helps you time auto attack better and maximizes your dps as Ranged Auto> Melee auto
So pretty much the reason is for when you are sticking some melee ca's in for when ranged ca's are down and just making sure you dont accidently melee aa right? so i need to put that macro on every single melee ca i have?
Yeah, it's a really stupid mechanic that they need to fix. The idea is that your ranged attack hits like a truck, your melee doesn't as much. One thing to watch for is that that toggle doesn't work completely consistently if you happen to hit it twice by mistake, and may turn off your AA completely. Pretty much if you mess with this kind of thing, you NEED that autoattack bar that greys out when your AA isn't engaged.
Awesome, i always ranged aa no matter what even in the use of melee ca's but i am my guilds raid leader so to have to call AE's and such no one is perfect and i would melee aa on accident. This will help me dps smarter for sure ty guys
