What bow are you using?

And yeah, in the same boat as you, topping all the parses, but I know I could do better if I got my auto attack timing down. So maybe we can bounce some ideas off of eachother and what not.

I know that Tanaka uses ACT to alert him when his auto attack fires but then there's still the matter of timing.

Why?

/weapon

I run raid buffed around a 4 second bow delay.

CA Name - Casting Timer
Confounding Arrow - 0.74 Seconds
Precise Shot - 0.74 Seconds
Snaring Shot - 0.74 Seconds
Triple Volley - 0.75 Seconds
Rain of Arrows - 1.0 Seconds
Culling the Weak - 1.11 Seconds
Devitalizing Arrow - 1.11 Seconds
Selection - 1.5 Seconds
Veiled Fire 2.2 Seconds
Sniper Shot 3.7 Seconds

Longblade - 0.37 Seconds
Ranger's Blade - 0.37 Seconds
Cover Fire - 0.37 Seconds
Mortal Reminder - 0.37 Seconds

If you waited for an auto attack to go off after every CA then depending on your bow delay you could be waiting several seconds of just sitting there doing nothing.

I have my CA's on my hotbar going from fastest cast timer to least, so I know how many I can string together before getting in an auto attack. Sitting around waiting for an auto attack is...wow, can't even describe it.

Know your bow delay when raid buffed, know your casting timers. The hard part is when even knowing all this you will still miss auto attacks and when trying to maximize raid DPS missing an auto attack is crucial.

:/ the 15th tread about this. search FTW :P

type /we hit enter when your group is set up, thats your delay before temp buffs. read your CAs and you can time them with your current delay.

cast focus and honed and type /we for your near cap or cap haste and thats your temp caped delay.

I knew this already but what ur telling me is that u count 4 seconds if ur delay is 4 you dont have anyother easier method than yourself.
Because i looked for this before i posted but i only found the one from tanaka but i tried it and it didnt work for me i guess i put something wrong in ACT or something but it did not work

OK then do this since you have the RSB to start off with.

2 CAs
auto
2 CAs
auto

then go from there when you get use to the timing.

Having ACT trigger your autos is anoying to me as i payattention to other things while raiding, so i keep and eye on my damage numbers about the mobs head to help my timing. Not every ranja is going to play the same way so just gotta keep practicing.

during focus aim ive always pretty much spammed arts starting with debilitating arrow, while never queuing a second one which i believe would give room for auto attacks since they are instant. the rest of the time i can really only cycle through confounding precise and snaring, and some melee arts in between auto attacks, does anyone else do that?
