Re: Being lvl 70 means nothing....
I dunno... since I solo a lot when I do get to group I warn folks: "Hey, I mostly solo, so if you have requests, speak up!" So I can see how someone might not know how to play thier class in certain situations. But not in all situations!
I also tend to look at my new spells when I get them and keep group-specific stuff over on one hot bar for when I just might need it, so I rarely get called n00b.
I'd have to be educated for raiding. But I'd confess it from the get-go. Or find another troub to get recomendations from.

Still, it just blows my mind that someone, even soloing, can get to level 70 and know NOTHING about other classes. The defiler as a scout one being one of the biggies. I mean seriously... You at the very least see the other classes when you're in creation. * boggle *
It's hard to remember sometimes that not everyone takes the time to read up on the game and learn about it to play better. * shrug * I'm just spoiled like that.

I live this.
I used to argue the game isn't too easy. I've been proven wrong. Some points I've learned to just let go. The Illusionist that insists on using his pet in group so that the zerker and Assassin get no haste and the Warlock or Conjurer gets no damage/hate reducing proc. Other issues, I am sometimes stunned over.
* Casting from the group on body pulls.
* People that do not realize a debuff on an untaunted mob will draw aggro just as quickly as a damage spell. THEN, get in an argument that they didn't do anything to draw the aggro since it was just a debuff.
* Telling people a game mechanic is "X" only to be told I am wrong. Then having to waste 10 minutes proving the point. Specifically, Illusionist and Warlock in a group. Illusionist mez's encounter to fight one at a time. I state over and over that in a mez'ed encounter, only direct damage or AoE's will break the mez. Encounter spells, even damage spells, will only effect the unmez'ed. I'm not believed so we have to "test it" since the mezzes keep breaking. After several encounters where I'm proven right, the Warlock asks "if I cast an encounter DoT and then you mez, will it break when the damage ticks?"
I have lists but you get the point. Seems in the rush to 70, people don't stop to play their toon and experiement.

Re: Being lvl 70 means nothing....
Yeah Kiana, I'm not that picky when it comes to PuGs. In EQ2 anyway. WoW is a whole nother issue with PuGs. I do however think people could read or learn enough to know what the different character classes are.
I have so many alts now I don't know jack about most of them when it comes to grouping since I have soloed mostly on them. I read the spell descriptions and can read boards or chat in class channels when/if I have questions.

This was fair, of course, because when he got bored on raids he would mem wipe the mobs.

memwiping raidmobs on my coercer is an endless source of amusement, and I hope noone from EC reads this

With the farm status of basically every mob in the game now Snark, it is probably best to do things like memwipes on epics to keep it at least somewhat interesting, yes?

It's even funnier to cast Phase at the "wrong" time, but hey I didn't do it!

So true! Phasing main tank on matron is perhaps the single most devestating button press possible. Besides evac I guess:smiley-surprised:

Just because I get confused... a sidebar.
Calthine = Kiana
I = Kiara
I can't remember a time when people haven't gotten us mixed up.
Back on topic
It's a major pet peeve of mine when someone, say for example, a level 70 wizard doesn't know how to control their aggro. You're level 70 FFS!!! DO NOT CAST ON THE PULL. Good GODS how hard is that to learn?
And when the entire mini raid is telling you over and over again to stop drawing aggro because you've died on every pull for the last 5 pulls? Instead of stopping and saying, okay what am I doing wrong, you pitch a hissy and drop the group, raid, and GUILD instead of sacking up and admitting you know squat... OH MY GOD.
And then tell stalking ME (wtf is up with that anyway? not a leader, not an officer and yet *I* get tell stalked * boggle *) telling me about how your big nuke is a master and blah blah blah and you used your hate decreaser and you're X years old and can bench press 310 lbs... like I give a sparkling gnome crap wtf you can bench...
Yeah... Breakdown. I have a small peener and have now been publically embarassed because I don't know how to play my class and the cleric yelled at me. I'm going to go cry like a little girl now.
