[ insert sarcasim ] WHA HUH!!!! This is a news flash to me.. Defilers are scouts now. Boy was I WAY OFF!!! I better study my wards again.. maybe they are some kind of powerful damage dealer or something I didnt know about? Man and for 70 lvls I thought I was a HEALER! I felt like saying WOW you have sneak I didnt know tanks had sneak!
How can someone go this long and not know this... could there be that few of us that he has never grouped with one? I mean come on I dont expect everyone to know the in and outs of what I do, what my buffs do, etc. But at least know what we do... I dont know all the ins and outs of a rouge... but at least I knowt hey are scouts.

I'd love to be able to tell you I did the right thing and explained to the tank the role of a coercer as crowd control. I really would but...I basically said to the Coercer
"Aww for crying out loud! Are you healing at all?"
"Did you ebay this toon? Do you even know where your heals are?"
"Why is the tank dying!? Why are you mezzing mobs when you are supposed to be healing?"
So yeah....education is good but difficult when entertainment is the price.

It's a major pet peeve of mine when someone, say for example, a level 70 wizard doesn't know how to control their aggro. You're level 70 FFS!!! DO NOT CAST ON THE PULL. Good GODS how hard is that to learn?
And when the entire mini raid is telling you over and over again to stop drawing aggro because you've died on every pull for the last 5 pulls? Instead of stopping and saying, okay what am I doing wrong, you pitch a hissy and drop the group, raid, and GUILD instead of sacking up and admitting you know squat... OH MY GOD.
And then tell stalking ME (wtf is up with that anyway? not a leader, not an officer and yet *I* get tell stalked * boggle *) telling me about how your big nuke is a master and blah blah blah and you used your hate decreaser and you're X years old and can bench press 310 lbs... like I give a sparkling gnome crap wtf you can bench...
Yeah... Breakdown. I have a small peener and have now been publically embarassed because I don't know how to play my class and the cleric yelled at me. I'm going to go cry like a little girl now.

Wow that....is a very....detailed example there.... You have quite an imagination.

You know, for some reason I think this example isn't all too common, but I might be wrong. I bet you've had that story saved up for a while now, haven't you? :smiley-tongue:
EDIT: ugh, I feel so trumped that there were 2 responses by the same person before I could make this one, and they said the same thing.

* laughs * I have to confess to ranting about this situation more than once. And Radar claiming that I have quite the imagination is a crock of poo, because he was there when it happened.
I'm just a little bitter... I get cranky when people can't play their class. If you can't play your character, for the love of GOD reroll! That's what I did. I was probably the CRAPPIEST ranger alive right after launch in EQ1. I knew it, everyone else knew it. And when I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE. I'd shout "Oops" after a pull and all of the people in MM would zone out. They wouldn't even hesitate. So I rerolled a cleric. * shrug * Much better results.
It's kind of like cars... You see people in these ginormous gas guzzling pieces of crap who CANNOT DRIVE OR PARK THEIR CAR. * boggle * Dear GODS, if you have to take 4 tries to park your truck? Guess what. You shouldn't be driving it. FFS.

Re: Being lvl 70 means nothing....
While agro is a group job, i abso-fucking-lutely cannot STAND wizards who nuke on incoming, then bitch the tank sucks because they can't hold agro. Or warlocks that AE as soon as the mobs hit the tank, before the tank has time to even get agro on one mob, let alone the whole troupe of them.
I also hate people "helping" chanters out by dotting the crap out of adds before they get to the group. Thanks man, appreciate that. I always state at the beginning of pick up groups that I haven't grouped with before that I only mez adds, NEVER mez within encounter unless specifically asked to (only happens in Nizara, but I don't PUG there anyway). Yet still the conjys *cough*simon*cough* love to "help out" by casting their ae snare... which happens to have a dot attached to it. Guess what? Can't mez for 30-someodd seconds now. And the tank may or may not be dead by then. Of course I use stuns more often than not, cuz the mob(s) we're fighting will die before the adds do much damage, unless the adds happen to show up within seconds of the pull.

Re: Being lvl 70 means nothing....
SE server here so this is pretty much the culture of the server. My favorite is the dirge we took to vaults. He kept insisting he had hate on the tank, we kept insisting he did not. I finally took the time to look and he had hate on the healer! When asked why, he replied, "It's a group buff, man. It doesn't matter who I target..."
We really need a head banging on wall smiley.

The worst part was, he DID ask... and I told him "Your first mistake was when you went to the store to buy Everquest 2..."
Honestly, that WAS what he did wrong...

DPS doesn't entirely mean that you bring the BOOM in a group. It also means when to CURVE said boom so that you don't die.
