Now see, since I do solo 90% of the time, I really don't know the capabilities of the other classes.

Frankly, it's freeking embarassing.

The good news is I play a Troubador, and I can completely justify standing back and just buffing and watching group dynamics before I do something hopelessly n00bish like casting my DoT and breaking mezz constantly (which I did to a guildie, then had to work my ass off to take agro so we didn't wipe - no real tank).

And that's what I do. Not break mezz, but buff and play ranja or rogue (use my arrows or backstab attacks) and stay the hell out of the way of people who actually know what they're doing.

So, while I guess I'm uneducated regarding the other classes, I'm at least smart enough to not bork anything until I see what's going on. And smart enough to announce that I usually solo, so requests and advice are happily taken.

Do I get half credit?

I give you complete credit for not being a noob. First, you don't always know what everyone else can do because you solo, and with good reason. Not because you group and just have your head up your hiney.

Two, you pay attention and work yourself into the group rather than just thrash about like a bull in a china shop and make a mess.

Sidebar: What she said. While I may be a TS junkie, I don't post about it ;) I'm too busy at the stove. Things were a lot worse when I was on Najena and had a friend who was also a dark elf templar with the same hair and was named Karia. Yeah... the MT's there were classic.

there are times when i've stayed back for 10 seconds, run in and in one attack, stolen aggro from the entire encounter. if you know anything about brigand aoes, that's saying something. then for the rest of the zone it's auto-attack and evade. 400 dps ftw.

stupid people always amuse me though. sometimes i look for pick-up groups just for the entertainment value.:smiley-happy:

Another fun thing to do with mediocre tanks:
As a paladin, put amends on the tank (they probably wont notice) and also ward them before the pull. Drives them bonkers.

It's also fun to cast your reactive/ward/HOT on them before they pull when they aren't paying attention and then yell at them for being a crappy tank because you always get aggro and they don't understand WHY...

OOOOOhhhhh. Or (when you're a templar) pulling a named mob with your mez and using your hate reducer and your tank wondering how the hell that named mob just randomly attacked...

not... that I do that ... ever.... * shifty *

Grouping is one thing...
I had another 70 Templar send me a tell wanting to ask a question. I thought it would be fun sharing tips and strategies, maybe on healing or how to make best use of buffs. Then I got the question...Where are odyssey stones found?
