Sorry man, I disagree. This site presently has a spam problem. The problem is being caused by a small number of posters. I can either make these decisions myself, then spend hours and hours typing out shit to defend my decisions, or I can send a vote to the Spam Jury and let them decide to convict or acquit. I therefore choose the solution that will be better for me.

I am the gate keeper for frivolous claims, but the community decides whether the person is guilty as charged, and must do so by a 2/3 margin that in my opinion surpasses the standard of reasonable doubt. This has checks, balances, and democracy written all over it.

I need to make this site as self-governing as possible. This will save a lot of my time and a ton of personal grief. I'm sorry if you disagree with me on this, but based on the fact you voted for Laodaron in the existing poll, you and I apparently view this situation from inside of different worlds already.

We are going to give this a try. If it has horrible, unanticipated consequences, we can change it.

I honestly don't think you have anything to worry about. In your case, you put far more time into making individual graphics to post as a reply to a thread as others do in typing out replies to that thread. None of your graphics are in the form of "this thread is gay", the great majority of them include a message that is relevant and at least reasonably on topic to the thread at issue. You also don't reuse your graphics, they are single use for a single reply. Accordingly, IMO, a picture is worth 1000 words, so in your case, your pictures cannot be spam.

The above opinion is limited to what you post only, and does not necessarily apply to pictures posted by other people (e.g., a pic with Richard Simmons wearing spandex and a rainbow wig with the caption "this thread is gay" doesn't add anything to a discussion, but you don't post that kind of thing).
