I went ahead and unsuspended Laodaron already.

I've accused Laodaron of being a spammer. If he wants to continue posting here and deny he is a spammer, he can plead not guilty based on this new policy, and I'll put it up to a vote. It would require a 2/3 majority to convict.

All I ask by unsuspending him is that he keeps the bullshit regarding his unhappiness with this situation in this post.

If the person pleads innocent, I'll put up a poll in Rate a Retard with a simple yes or no public vote, asking for community feedback on whether the person is a spammer and/or troller.

Votes will stay up for 3 days, and a 2/3 majority of users who vote will be required to convict the person of spamming and/or trolling. If not convicted by that majority, the person will immediately resume his or her status as a regular user.

If convicted by a spam jury of his peers in the manner described above, the person will get a 1 day suspension for a 1st conviction, and a 3 day suspension for a second or additional conviction, and will also be placed on three week Spam Probation when the suspension expires.

None of the above limits my ability to delete spam where I see it or otherwise restricts any other rights or abilities I have to manage this site.

That was something he cited in his 'challenge'. I'm not qualifying whether you said it nor am I defending him. Just a reply to his request. I used the term 'fairness' only because it was a reasonable request and nobody had posted whether they had done it. I just wanted to give it a whirl.

Other than the initial head-bumping here, I think the reiteration of the rules is a good thing going forward. Lets move on. I'm pretty confident this horse has been beaten to a bloody pulp and we've heard from just about everyone on where they stand. Discussing it further is like putting lipstick on a pig. Considering the nature of the site and of polling/voting in general here, I'm not so sure a poll is the best idea- unless you plan to force people to post why they voted a certain way and even still...

You're better of just making a judgment call. People can bitch all they want and being human it certainly won't be perfect but, it's better than putting up a vote.

this court thing would never work, we all kno that lfg is not a minority or some big dumb texan so he is automatically disqualified from the judgeship. We need a black guy with tough love or some over the top latina to run shit.
