Actually, No contest is much closer to a guilty plea. It means either, "I'm guilty and dont want to admit it", or "I'm not guilty but I cannot defend myself". In either case, its treated like a guilty plea in that the whole trial phase is skipped and they go straight to sentencing. You must have been joking about being a former defence attorney.

If he really did plead "No contest", this poll should never have been put up. Its basically the equivalent of putting him in the gallows so we can throw feces at him for 3 days. It should be taken down and he should be put on probation starting now.

Also, with no contest, I don't have to allocute. But, I allowed LFG to continue to come after me with no real argument out of me. I'm just enjoying the ride.

Oh, and for the record, I voted no contest to avoid this. No contest is basically a guilty plea where I don't have to admit my crimes nor do I have to specify what they were. LFG for some reason appears to be out for me, so I'm not fighting this. Vote what you guys think is fair, I'm done trying to get a point across on the subject of MY spam.
