When I saw Tikk’s last name I was surprised. I didn’t think that Aftermath’s leadership would allow someone to use a last name that openly mocks someone’s real life religion.
- My guild leaders handle loot distribution and organize raids, they don’t offer a nanny service.

I could have just reported the name violation without saying anything to Tikk and you would have never known who did it.

If someone uses a last name like he did, unless they are a total idiot, they have to expect some backlash. If someone mocks my religion openly in game, I will challenge it every time.

My mind just can not fathom why on earth you got so offended by this that you took the time out of your day to report someone, in a computer game of FICTIONAL CHARACTERS, that had a last name containing the title of your religion. I wish he would have been online so I could have seen his response to my request. If it was positive and he changed his last name then I would have respected that. My judgement call on Site Rules based on complaints received:

I do not consider the term "communist Mormon" to be hate speech or violate site rules. For the same reason, I would also not consider that combination of words to violate Site Rules, or amount to hate speech, if they were used as "communist jew" or "communist African American".

The word communist describes a political ideology, and is not a word that would justify punching someone in the mouth if they called you that RL.

I think this is an important post, and am therefore moving it to center stage.

I do not condone insulting any religions, and would not do that myself.

But I'm not going to prevent people from discussing religion here, or using words to describe any particular religion, unless the combination of those words involves hate speech toward the members of the religion. That has not happened in this case.
