Roffle...I had no clue about any of this. I was guilded with Broom in Genesis for like...2 weeks? She was active for about a week, then stopped playing for a week. I recall her just leaving the guild for no reason, or perhaps was booted for inactivity, not sure.

Anyway, good shit. :smiley-very-happy:

I just noticed the above edit. Thanks to the Board Admin for posting this. The original post by Miroh was edited because the content implied violence against another person. There is another post by the OP that states I was "better left dead". As I told LFG today I wont be posting here anymore. Sometimes things go to far, and I think once it gets to a point where something like the above disclaimer has to be posted its time to seperate myself from it. I thought it was all a joke to for a bit as well, but I now realize that engaging in internet forums like this isn't a part of me I choose to humour and I feel ashamed even partaking in it. I feel the need to explain this in greater detail.

The comment I edited, and which is described above, was not an explicit threat of physical violence by one person against another person. I would have no choice but to ban someone for anything like that immediately.

The comment I edited was in the nature of a hypothetical offer by the person who wrote it for someone to look him up and settle the argument in person if needed. That doesn't amount to an explicit threat. Regardless, it is still something we must avoid on this site, because the differences in the situations are just too confusing and similar.

So please, when you are mad at someone, it is fine to express yourself using strong language toward them. But please leave out any scenario, whether explicit, hypothetical, or implied, that involves the concept of real life physical violence between the two of you or anyone else in any way. You can write a far more powerful and convincing argument by just sticking with the facts and your reasonable opinions based on those facts.

Many of us grew up hearing people say things like "that guy should be shot for doing that," or "I feel like beating his ass" or similar. Now, you and I both know that in those examples, the person wasn't stating a terroristic threat, which would generally require an explicit statement involving a specific present or future intent to inflict harm.

But you just can't say things like that any more in this day and age, especially not in writing, and definitely not during an argument you are having with someone who doesn't like you. You should really get out of the habit of including any concept of physical violence in any argument, whether on this board or elsewhere. There have been too many situations involving violence, such as by postal workers and between coworkers, where law enforcment and government employees are now trained and required to take such statements literally and act against the person who made them without any subjective determination about whether they actually planned to harm the other person.

And as you can see from this situation, some people will interpret any comment that includes even the concept of physical violence much more seriously than other people will interpret that same comment.

I'm not trying to be politically correct. I'm just saying you can come up with better material for your arguments, there is no need to ever go there, so please don't incorporate any concept of real life physical violence against any person in anything you post on this site.

Was no offer, it was a question about what was meant by what someone said, I for one am not a violent person nor would I take it to any such extreme under any situation. I was as I stated already, merely asking what was implied by what was said then to have it completely turned around. It was one of many assumptions that could have been true by the statement.

And Broom, grow up please, no one ever threatened you, stop thinking that everyone is out to get you. I as many others dislike you Broom, yes yes we know you don't care and can kiss your ass. To actually thrive on something untrue as you being threatened shows just how truely dramatic you are. Open your eyes. You're a joke to the gaming community and a joke to the flaming one. You scream such unjust due to actions, accusations, and other things and cry and cry and cry until you realize shit just isn't going to go your way then you leave...why? Cause you're a quiter.

What I edited out was a comment by you wondering whether her brother was going to somehow trace your IP number and come to your house.

When you are in an argument with someone and ask whether that person or someone related to them will pay you a visit based on the argument you are having, that in itself implies the possibility of physical confrontation.

And then a person on the other side of the argument, who interprets things in an extreme manner, will either claim or suggest that you threatened them with RL violence, just because you brought that scenario into your argument.

Now, if you are saying you made your comment in response to something she said, please point out exactly what she said, because I don't see it. If you can show me that she introduced the subject of her brother tracing your IP number and coming to your house, and that you merely asked her a followup question about her comment, I will apologize to you and agree she was wrong.

But frankly, I no longer care who was right or wrong. I've now spent the better part of my Saturday dealing with this problem. I have better things to do and am tired of explaining the implications of this problem in excrutiating detail so that you and others will understand that it is never a good idea to introduce anything even implying RL confrontations or unwanted meetings into any argument.

The bottom line is that I will never have to deal with this problem again if you simply never introduce the subject of RL confrontations, unwanted meetings, or anything like that into any arguments or discussions you may have on this board.

Miroh, I wanted to make sure you understand that you and I are ok about this. We do not have any continuing problem or anything further to discuss about this I hope.

However, I'm worn out after dealing with this for the better part of the day now and am simply asking you and everyone else on this board to never introduce any subject into an argument that can be interpreted by anyone in the most extreme way possible as involving the possibility of physical confrontation or unwanted contact.

I hope you understand what I mean, because I am done talking about this.

ON several raids I was ordered to preward. Any shaman knows that such an order is basically asking us to suicide. With the changes in T6, Pre warding/reactives/regens generated increased aggro. I was astounded frankly by your class leaders lack of knowledge regarding this. I left the guild rather than be its sacrificial bitch. Sorry it pissed you off so much. I never knew.

Look at the old LOL forums, my post about it is there...I had even one of your guild leaders agree with me about it! So I got no problems with what happened. BTW, you really need to go get a refund from Player Auctions on Khrom because he sucked ass as a tank. Maybe you can exchange it for something more useful like a brigand or a defiler.

As for the rest of you "band-wagon" bashers on the thread...I was going to write out something but decided your not significant enough to warrant it. I will state for the record that you can all collectively kiss my Black ass. There will be a day (and forums like these ALWAYS come full circle) where your being bashed by lies. And I'll be waiting.

My biggest crime in EQ2 is not finding the right guild for me. Yes I hopped around quite a bit in my serach for the "perfect" guild which doesnt exist. I never knew people took someone leaving thier guild so dam personally. I have learned an important lesson here and will remember it.

Seriously, like I said, I've known her for a while and never had a problem with her before.

I wanted to make clear that in all the BS above, I didn't accuse Miroh of threatening anyone or of any wrongdoing.

I'm just asking everyone to be careful in how they say things, and to not say anything that can be interpreted in an "OMG he threatened me" kind of way.

I need to also repeat that this site isn't for everyone. You need to have a thick skin to post here. If you are easily offended by what others say about you, or are prone to consider criticism as stalking or RL threats, please do us all a favor and just don't read this site or post here. I don't have the time to deal with it.

I'm putting everyone on notice that the next time anything like this happens, I'll probably just decide which person involved in the drama is the core source of the problem, i.e., who is being most unreasonable, and I will simply ban that person's IP number so they can't access or read the site anymore.

Then, the problem will be solved immediately.
