I'm firmly in the camp that the rep was messing with you. You submit a petition like that, and it is hard for me to believe that they didn't read it and think, "Is this guy high, or just trying to be funny?". So, since they likely determined you were trying to be funny, they attempted to humour you (and themselves), and replied in the manner they did.

People here (well, the internet in general) tend to think they are a bunch of f'n geniuses, and tend to think that everyone else is a complete moron incapable of actual thought.

I thought their response was awesome, personally. Tell Shiny to submit a petition, laugh. I think it is pretty funny anyone would get outraged by it.

Like I said, if it's a joke, it's out of keeping with most of my dealings with SOE CSRs, but it's damn hilarious, and they deserve to be commended for it.

I would credit it as a joke it they added the line "but joking aside, please /bug this rather than use petition" at the end of the email.

...And that's the shit that gets me. If the game isn't working as intended, and that's stopping me from getting something that the game intended me to get, then I should be able to contact customer support and get them to correct the problem and allow me to continue playing the game as intended. Is it on the frivolous side of life? Yes, but I'm proving a point.

Is the service SOE provides so piss poor that we don't feel that we can get them to correct the many small problems in the game, so we can play it the way it was designed? Yes, a shiny isn't a big deal, but it's the fact that I'm expected not to try and get a problem which is affecting my gameplay to a degree fixed for me that pissed me off.

Let's face it, all discussion about jokes aside, a shiny in the sky is a fault in the game. It's a little fault, but a fault nonetheless. It seems to be the mentality of some people that we shouldn't bother SOE with the little things, because if they deal with them, they won't have the resources to deal with the big problems as well. That's because we're getting substandard customer service.

I honestly think that we deserve better, and I'm prepared to treat it as though we're getting the service we should be. I'm not going to forgo reporting one thing to make their life easier.

ok now your being stupid. a million or more people have already said on this thread that you should bug report it and not petition. or in simple english for you to better understand it:

Bug report = for small issues that doesnt interrupt or stop your gameplay.

Petition = exploits and serious violations of the EULA. also issues that prevents you from being able to play the game.

A shiny thats stuck doesnt prevent you from playing the game. It just makes you have to find another bloody shiny.

Shuda bugged it, its a freakin shiny, pixels on a screen, the worst it will do is make you loose 5 plat or so for selling a rare shiny or the last piece in ur collection, its assholes like who stop CS doing their fucking job(when they feel like doing it)
