I was a tad taken in with Afton's flirting in Amend early on until either Afton or Warling mentioned that someone on another server accused Afton of being a gay man.

I wasn't laughing. You know how true that shit always turns out to be. Especially when the person "has a broken microphone" through the lifetime of the game. You bet I turned cold to the flirting in tells from then on. But I didn't shun Afton as a friend, s/he/it was still a very competent player and generally good natured. The well-played manginaness left a creeping uncertainty but it didn't interfere with the game in any way. Don't ask don't tell kinda thing.

It was dealt with, Aftadude was spoken to and said, no one has a broken mic this long, it wouldn't be a problem if you were gay, whatever, it doesn't matter but when your pretending to be something your not and flirting with people it needs to stop. IIRC, the officers offered even accept the charges of a collect call, just have a conversation with me or something like that, prove your what you say you are and we'll drop it because people will be comfortable...being around "it".

It basically said end it already. I can't take this misery, or something like that.

Ahhh Afton... well I think everyone has had their fair share of what this person brought to EQ2. I remember when Afton first transferred to Najena, at the time I was still guild leader of Souls of Betrayal, and he/she acted interested in the guild because we were currently recruiting a brigand... I didn't have any knowledge of his/her prior arrangements to join another guild on the server, and when he was invited to a raid with us which happened to be a contested in ToS, he/she told the other guild about it to play the guilds against each other ... and well you can take it from there. Afton drama, good times. (not really)

I also remember not too long ago when Afton was transferring to try to join FoH, I got quite a few tells from some FoH members saying please please talk some sense into our leaders... they don't know what theyre getting into with Afton having known everything that happened on Najena. LoL, well I guess everyone has to find out for themselves at some point.
