Re: The Raven Mythic of AB
Yes it was. It was the public revelation of it, as prior it had only been known to a few people.
And gosh, VK made a big deal out of it. I can't IMAGINE why that would be.

Re: The Raven Mythic of AB
Ill start off with this:
1) yes, the rp community can appear crappy.
2) I may not alway get along with duvessa to the point I havent spoken to him for a year.
3) people can be over dramatic and there can be tons of drama.
I will finish those lines with:
The RP community seeming crappy is instigated by individuals, not as a community as a whole. in every basket there is a bad apple... and fights and disagreements are bound to happen... there are two ways you can handle this.. you can either respond or react.
unfortunatly leithe, you chose to react without thought... I cant say what happened or the hell you went through, but trying to flame everyone down and air dirty laundry, create a thread to bash those you disagree with, wasnt a responding and trying to handle or deal with anything. From experience I can say whatever bad stuff happens in a game is quickley forgotten by community and all involved within a matter of weeks... things would have blown over...
I dont know what happened, im sure it hurt, but you didnt have to lash out like a cornered cat trying to claw at everyone good and bad.
yeah ok, so duvessa does things differantly, I dont always agree with him, and there have been times the man drove me literally nuts... but... in an overall perspective.. he did do something for the community... he managed to create a place that brought people together... good and bad.. friendships were forged.. enemies made.. no differant than in the real world... but the fact that he managed to create a place where people can share thoughts and creativity.. sometimes the good outweighs the bad...His actions, his preferances, his fetishes or things he does on his own personal time shouldnt really have an impact on this.... when he is on his toon..he is a player just like everyone else.. and shouldnt be held to anyone elses ideal of standards one way or another. The RM boards are a place for everyone to share... it has gone through its trials and errors and lessons learned.. and you gotta give the man credit for trying to keep it clean and keep it as a feeling of a save haven for all.
Sure, if it were me I would have ran things alot differantly, but he was the one willing to fork out the hundreds of dollars to put it all together, not me... so his house.. his rules, and as when in anyones house, its only right that you respect the rules set in place.
as far as lesbians and whatever else... 99.8 percent of the lesbians on thier are played by differant people from all parts of the world, and a single man shouldnt be held accountable for how other people choose to play thier toon or what they choose to do in thier spare time as well....
on to the last thought... yeah RM can seem overly dramatic, sometimes I even have to run for cover rather then sit there and choke on the drama goo.... but.. to date.. I have never seen drama that has reached the levels of this thread.... good lord, your a man in your 30s or so ? right? why do you need to convince your friends to make hate drive flaming posts on board they wouldnt normally log in to.. just to rile up the pot? thats so middle school.....We are all adults here.... why couldnt you just send a private letter to duvessa to say.. "hey.. i dont like what you did, I dont wish to hunt with you, I dont wish to do thing with you.... until this issue is resolved between us.... " trust me this works... you would have opened a way to resolve the issues , and the community on eq2 rants and RM would have been spared watching a new drama unfold that isnt even related to 80% of them.
anyways.. best of luck and best of wishes with your endevors, im sorry that whatever happened to you, has created such an atmosphere of hate and ill feelings over the holliday season.....

Re: The Raven Mythic of AB
No, Shard, it wasn't. In fact, if not for VK, the plan was for her never to reveal her face at that meeting or one or two following it. But they decided it was a good oppportunity to make changes in their own characters. Nevermind that it resulted in drama fucking over their "friends", which they chose not to help through tough times.
Sure, knew it was gonna happen, not like it was all spontaneous. But it was very obviously a mistake.
You don't know what the fuck you're talking about.

Re: The Raven Mythic of AB
Thank you, Montana. I'm glad you at acknowledge the validity of both sides. Been through a lot of shit with this community and I've been an asshole as well. Had good times, had bad times, etc. I miss the good times. Oh well. On to greener pastures and phatter lewt.
Also, to avoid confusion...Difference between that and the "fence setting neutrals" is that the neutrals mostly supported people having shit shoved down their throats, but not people being outraged by it.
Acknowledging the validity of both sides and trying to be understanding is different.

Unless people are physically following someone around, day in, day out, there is no way in this game that anything can be "shoved down their throats". And event then, you /petition.
/ignore
Failing that, /petition.
Don't be such a damn drama queen.

Re: The Raven Mythic of AB
Gosh, you're a cute little martyr. Now it's all the VK's fault, eh? Except this never went OOC until you guys took it there. Oops!
You fucked yourselves over, and you started the drama that fucked you over. Then you went and fucked them over, and a whole lot of other people. And then you expressed amazement that people didn't appreciate that.
Being a friend also includes telling your friend when they're stepping over the line and about to hurt themselves and others. If Az had done that to you a few times before all of that shit went down, it wouldn't have likely happened.
Trying to rewrite things to make you look like less of a petty, whiny little bitch doesn't quite work when you played the whole damned thing out in public. I don't know what happened? Yes I do. So does everyone who read the Haven boards and several other message boards, including yours and TD's, over the course of that week. We were ALL privy to your dirty laundry.
So la la, whatever. In the end all you've really done is kicked yourselves in the balls. I could care less about people determined to blame me for their own mistakes, especially when I tried to warn them about it.

That doesn't work all too well. Not saying it for egotistical purposes, but ever noticed how vehemently celebrities are harassed?
Hard to ignore that stuff - only way to do it is reroll, move servers, or just quit. Which is sad. And sucks.
