Saying that "that's just the way economy works" in the case of shinies is like saying that it's "just the way economy works" with gas prices.

So they have every right to charge us huge amounts of money just because they can? Doesn't matter what we haven't hardly dented our oil reserve, which would last us somewhere along the lines of 30 years by itself without having to drill again. We still pay 3+ Dollars a gallon every time at the pump.

But that's "just the way economy works". Don't like it? Go drill your own oil.

Nope, i'll call that gouging right alongside the cost of some items that I see for sale on the broker today.

Here's the way the oil economy works, prices are set by the futures market, which is basically wall street people betting on how much oil will cost in the future, which is pretty fucked up if you think about it too hard. But, as the price of oil gets higher, MORE PEOPLE DRILL FUCKING OIL. Then we have more oil and the price usually goes down (unless there's a war going on or something). In the past, when prices would get high, opec would always increase their production to drop the prices and run competitors out of the market. They haven't been able to do that lately because of the fact that, as I said earlier, the price is actually set by the futures market. Wars make the futures market nervous, i guess.

BTW, the factoid you probably half heard from the drive-by media is that there is 30 years worth of oil sitting in some reserve under US soil. They were probably talking about ANWR, though I thought that had 50 years worth. Our actual oil reserves are like 30 days worth.

I'm sure as hell not going to pick up, run to thundering steppes, then harvest for a couple hours until I find the item that would finish the collection.

20g is fine to save me the time of doing it myself.

The thing about the cattle and pork futures, is that if the price is too low, they just don't slaughter the animals. The ones that blow my mind are the futures markets for grains and other produce. Farmers use those markets to decide how much friggen product to plant! Talk about being a big incestuous cluster-fuck, eh?

right now most people who have a high lvl main are playing that toon...
i.e. they are far less often playing low lvl alts and that does massively reudce supply of low lvl stuff.

give it some more time till people get bored of rok stuff and supply of low lvl stuff will once again skyrocket and prices will dump.

There's quite a big difference between oil prices and shiny prices. People actually depend on getting gas since they have to go to work and shit so basically you have to buy gas.

A T2 shiny? Who the fuck needs it so bad that they cant wait until someone puts it up for less money or until they stumble across it themselves? Someone with enough money to not care if it's 2g or 20g.

Plus, Americans are so damn whiny about gas :P I pay like $6 a gallon!

low end shinies lore and legend parts are pricey atm, but what u expect with the % of players in those zones
High lvl collection and body parts go for a lot more and many more ppl in zones
as some one said, how else will new players get enough gold to improve their toons. go farm/harvest /collect the highest lvl u can and some trash sells for 20 G plus let alone the high lvl shinies u can sell to buy low ones
plenty of ways to make money without whining about 20 g, btw i remember being chuffed to bits having my 1st gold coin when game came out
