Nah, lemme tell you what's involved here also.
When I suspend someone for a porn violation or whatever, I only need to go to one screen, select "ban" from a pulldown menu, and select the number of days for that ban, or whether it is permanent, from a following screen.
I never IP ban for a suspension, because that's a pain in the ass. I need to run reports to check every IP the person has ever used to access this site, then parse the IP numbers out of those reports and copy them all into the banning options section of the admin cp. Another reason I never do that to start is because then I'd have to undo this all when I unbanned the person, and that would be an even bigger hassle, because to unban the person, I'd also have to separate out all that person's banned IP numbers from the thousands of other banned IP numbers on this site. And the only way to do that is one by one, looking for numeric matches.
We have had numerous problems on this website with people coming back and throwing tantrums by making new accounts after they were banned. When they do that, I have no choice but to then go in and ban by IP, because as experience has shown, if someone has committed an additional violation of the Site Rules after being suspended for violating the Site Rules, they have zero fucking respect for the Site Rules and cannot be trusted to use this site. Unless I go in and immediately ban all their IP numbers when they make a second account after being banned, they'll then make 3, 4, 5 or more additional accounts.
So in this case, when Lacotae made the Bugmen account after he'd already been suspended, I had to go in, get all his IP numbers, and do what I described above to ban them all so he wouldn't be able to make additional accounts unless he has basic haxor skills and understands proxy/socks technology, which involves posting from one IP number while making it look like you are posting from a different IP number.
In Lacotae's case, he'd previously accessed this site from over 20 different IP numbers, including all varying IPs assigned by his ISP. It took a half hour of my time to ban all that and tidy everything up.
That was a waste of my time I'd rather have spent doing something else. So am I going to spend an even greater amount of time reversing all that so he can post here again in the future and likely again act like the Site Rules don't apply to him?
Fuck no, he can kiss my ass. No way will I ever unban him or anyone else who creates another account after being suspended in the future.
