Default People that will never have a clue.

Okay, let me clear things up: everyone was new, everyone gets lost, I and almost everyone else get lost and ask stupid questions, I am talking about those who:

... will be completely and utterly confused with EVERYTHING and need their hand held through the whole game.

I've noticed this with MUCH younger players than me (then again, it's the Internet and they could be lying) and even older ones.

For example, when I get tells asking for quest updates when it's completely obvious...

When level 60 players ask me how to make money...

Being asked REALLY obvious questions "If I kill Blades Patrolmen they will hate me, right?"

I'm talking about that stuff. Too many times has this happened so I can't remember names.

Post your "um... duh..." moments!

We get a lot of genuinely new newbs in the Crafting channel, but the ones that get me are the ones who, when they are no longer new and have even declared thier main craftng profession, are asking "How to I make raw rawhide leather?" and similar questions. The other day a level 65 Woodworker asked how to make Mastercrafted. I am not making this up.

Purchased account or possibly a hand-me-down toon.

Hand holding is entirely right.

I'm always happy to help someone out. I LIKE helping people out.

I don't like being manipulated - who does?

In a former guild, we had a girl who absolutely refused to do for herself. She would sit around and mope, and make up fabulous stories about injuries and illnesses while waiting for someone to come take her hand and gently lead her wounded soul across the lands of Norrath. She was complaining about how helpless she was, one day, out in Nek working on dragoon. She was, supposedly, fighting owlbears which would have been green to her. I was on my way to Nek Castle and decided to veer over towards the owlbears and take a look. She's just parked there out of ag range, looking at them, going on in guild chat about how badly she's getting her ass kicked. The other guild leader finally demoted her (she'd been an officer) and told her to get it together. She flipped and left the guild, we were relieved all the whining was finally over.

I'm wasting enough of my own time running around in the game. Don't deliberately waste more of it dragging my butt out to kill stuff for you or jog you through a quest because you cannot be bothered to give it a try.

I offered to join up with someone to work on one of the new diety quests, because I had seen him wandering around and asking questions in ooc. I sorta knew him, so I decided to take him along.

I didn't realize that I would have to hold his hand the entire time. I had to explain in exacting detail what he was supposed to do for every step, even when the quest windo explicitly said what to do. I think after the first quest he just stopped reading it because I was running him through it very quickly.

He's a nice guy, but my head throbbed on more than one occasion when I said to myself "Read the goddamned quest journal!"

This kind of thing happens way to often as a tradeskiller. you know the - hey can you make XXX for me? - Sure I can make that do you have the materials? -

Fill in the blank.

Yes there are stupid and pathetic people out there and the best thing you can do for them is tell them off and make them do it themselves.Dont help on quests unless its a very dificult mode they need help with, dont accept work orders unless they have the materials ready and meet you at a spot of YOUR choosing. err and I would of told that pathetic ass sitting girl you spoke of OP to shove off crawl up a ass and die. Thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard and I have no respect for that kind of person.
Do for yourself untill you can do no more, then ask for help.

You can't see the recipe until you scribe it. Asking the non-TS'er for all the materials is a bit overkill.
