Tell them that you can't email them from the game, so it is now an out of game problem with a GM ;)

Well, that sucks. I talked to Sr. Guide the other day and what I posted was his answer nearly word for word. I have no reason to doubt who I talked to, but since the guide program is NOT governed by the GM's as a whole, they could have outdated info. But strange since thier program contacts instruct them to pass out THAT address for this type of thing.

Still it can't hurt to give it another shot, from anyone.

Here's a little bit of scary for ya: I know for a fact that in EQ Live, GMs/CSRs can /snoop any, and I mean any conversation if they choose. Guild chat, private passworded channels and other forms of closed channel chat. What if they can do that in EQ2? Does that enhance your desire to do everything necessary to get this guy canned?

On a side note. yuyoy is no longer on the kithicor server. Whether this was a name change or server change i do not know. Does this change the issue that chandrok was an asshat. NO! It does however change the way i'm gona handle what i do about it or can do. I will wait and see what happens from here. To the new server that got yuyoy, if that the case, please let us know. Look foward to see all the new rate a retard post on his new persona. The scary part is if he was given a new name. This the case look for a whole new set of petitions and warnings and bannings. Guess we all should be aware of the fact that he can be anyone. Good luck all.

Guides cannot /snoop on conversations in EQ2 fyi. I was an apprentice guide who was being mentored by a Senior Guide. There is a possibility that Elder Guides have this privilege but for now the only ones you need to fear are the GM"s. Guides are simply in game to help new players from lvl 1-40....and to help solve problems that aren't huge issues. Huge issue items they pass on certain email addresses, contact the Elder Guides and let them worry about it and duck out.

Edit: If Yuyoy got his named changed might there be a possibility of locating his new persona if you know what adventure level and class he is....could narrow the search on EQ2 players...and if I remember correctly LFG said he is anon on EQ2 players so not sure if y'all will be able to find him even if you did look.

I hope to goodness that he got perma banned or that he deleted his toon and has left the game. One can wish.../sigh

I did'nt say Guides could snoop, absolutely no Guide, Senior nor even Elder Guide can snoop. I said GMs and CSRs could (in EQ1). It's highly likely that they surely can here. Reading one of the logs from this thread, it seems that a GM hinted to them being able to do just that.

Just for those who don't know that there is a difference: GM's and CSRs are paid employees of SoE.
Guides are regular players of the game that volunteer some of thier time per week to try and enhance the game with RP and events. There's a big difference between a Guide and a GM/CSR/QA.

Guides have absolutely no power in EQ1 or EQ2. They are here to hold events for thier server and do 'minor' customer service like answer non-spoiler game questions, summon stuck players out of the geography and hold what they call 'answer circles'. And yes, most of what they do covers up to level 40, considering thats the highest world channel they can access.
Guides have a lot of restrictions, for example: there are more zones they are not allowed to enter for any reason whatsoever, than they are allowed to freely enter.

On the note that this person Yuyoy had insinuated that they were a guide... Everyone should be made aware that guides have no special priveleges, nothing They are just players of the game who volunteer to make the game more fun by running events and RPing with the players. If he were a guide he would have been aware that in trying to claim thier supposed position as a guide gives them any special treatment (where there is none whatsoever), that can and most likely will get them kicked out of the program for such a thing. Guides do not have the same kind of power they had in the past, if they had any at all.

When I was a guide in EQ1, this is where I got the information on the /snoop ability. The GM/CSR for the server I worked on told me outright during a disruption issue I was dealing with at the time that she was watching the conversations of all the parties involved and also told me at the time that she could /snoop any player conversation or channel, even guild chat. Guides these days aren't even allowed to speak in world channels unless it's to answer a game related question (non-spoiler).

I used to be a guide in EQ1 myself, back when they still did do real customer service work. I equate the guide program to a troupe of travelling actors these days. Acting and running events for the community. Mind you, ,I'm not speaking for anyone, just clearing up a little confusion. I admit that I have a soft-spot for the guide program.

Guides do have communicatin with CSRs that run the program. Don't think that you can't ask a guide how to deal with the situation. They may not be able to get directly involved in the issue, but they can use thier internal communications to pass on info to the program's CSRs.

This is true people - there is no such thing as a private conversation in EQ2. You do not have a right of privacy with respect to SOE reading your in game conversations.
