You may be right Dara, his post may have brought attention to a plat selling site that wouldn't have gotten attention otherwise. Maybe.

But I think it more likely that:
A) We'd hear from this site in game through tells or mails anway
B) Nobody who wouldn't buy plat before will buy plat now just because of a thread
C) If anything this blatant show of disrespect and hatred for the farmers and plat sellers emboldens those who have the same attitudes, and maybe makes it more likely that those who WOULD buy plat, maybe...just maybe...will think again seeing how the community as a whole feels about it.

C is probably not nearly as likely, but more likely than thinking that this thread, in a rate-a-retard thread, denouncing farmers and plat sellers, in a non-related forum, is actually going to generate sales for that site.

Far as your other points:
A) Every tell I've personally received has been from one specific site. Not saying this site wouldn't; and even if it did, that doesn't mean giving them more exposure doesn't help them.
B) Never said it would, and that's not the point; what it could do is divert traffic from the established sites to this one. Doesn't hurt the big ones one bit, and possibly gives this one the foothold to not go out of business.
C) I highly doubt anyone who has found there way here has any illusions as to the general attitude towards these folks. But, this IS a possibility, and the only possible actual good that could come of this thread. Personally, I feel the chance of this is a lot more remote than the chance of it doing the site some good.
