Being in the military you know shit rolls down hill, all those devs work for SOE and thus will get caught up in all the crap regardless of involvement level, which since they all work together I'm pretty sure they each knew about at least one shady thing the others have done because that's pretty much the truth for every workplace. How they are handling the situation is what needs work, situations like these aren't supposed to be swept under the rug in hopes they just go away, man up and accept what happened and work with the community to fix it. A prior military member should know that better than anyone (what happens on deployment stays on deployment, anyone?) Anyhow...

This site was created for the playerbase to post on with peace of mind that their posts will not be heavily censored or deleted based on how whatever was posted affects SOE's image. I'm definitely not an SOE fanboi nor am I an LFG fanboi because I personally think he is wishy washy. (seem to recall an event in the past where SOE and LFG got into a dispute and LFG started a few posts that got the playerbase riled up only to come back and say relations between the two are better and to stop posting about it and make it all go away...I forget the issue tho )

But this current situation was definitely brought about by SOE's inability to moderate the negative feedback about their game/company, so they do what they usually do, try to sever ties and hope it goes away. Eq2flames has grown beyond some mediocre fansite like Allakazam and Ogaming with it's current membership, hate them and call them retarded or childish all you want but you know if you dig thru enough threads you'll see quite a few very intelligent posts about the state of the game and what could be done to fix problems or even detailed combat mechanics discussions. I bet it peeves SOE employees off to come here and read some of these well done posts and see that there are normal players out here who know more about the game than the creators do. The current flaming posts that Snark and a few others have made aren't their own doing, they are fueled by many players who sent in information that was made public to them (did you even click on any of the links to see how easily the information was derived?)...so if you are looking for someone to blame you pretty much have to blame the entire playerbase of EQ2 for the uprising that went on here.

I knew the information for Aeralik, Domino and Astaroth before that was posted.

Aeralik told me, Astaroth told me and I found out about Domino by googling Emily Taylor and getting a link to something she posted as Adeste.

By the way the influencer's program is mainly a private forum on the SOE boards that allows "select" members of the community to ask the devs shit in a forum that offers a lot more signal/noise ratio.

Your implication that LFG got their private info from there is dumb and just shows you have no idea wtf you're talking about.

In reality the devs outted themselves.

I think that the SoE contact information/player names don't really fit what this rule is trying to enforce (there are other rules that touch on the release of "personal" information and its availibility). I do think that their were e-mails/PM's that might be considered, however.

I'm no lawyer, nor do I aspire to be one but as far as my white trash education is concerned public knowledge is public knowledge. If they freely gave out the information in the past, I wouldn't believe it against any laws out there to compile said information in an easy to read format.

I've tried keeping up with all the "dev" threads in the past couple days but a lot of it turns into blah blah blah for me, however I have yet to see either LFG or Snark promote or condone harrassment of these devs in any way (using the personal information posted) other then posting opinions on this domain.

I'm too lazy to go back and read the rules for this site again, but since personal info WAS given out I believe that someone broke the sites very own rules and either those posts should be edited or the rules should be changed.
