As I'm sure everyone knows by now, there has been a lot of drama going on lately about a single developer (who also happened to be a member of a large and well known/infamous raiding guild) giving strategies to his own guild on how to defeat a raid encounter.

Am I condoning this action? Hell no.

The idea of this game is to play it yourself and learn it yourself. But...Ne Plus Ultra and the dev in question Zoltaroth (dev name)/Astaroth (character name) aren't the topic of this Rate-a-Retard post.

LFG and Snark are.

LFG got pissed about this, as did many of us when we heard about it. Yeah...a dev broke what basically amounts to the "fourth wall" of MMOs and told his character's guild how to beat what was, until then, an unbeatable encounter (and then they had the audacity to go on the official EQ2 forums and bitch about the quality of the loot). Well...somewhere along the lines, LFG got it into his skull to go on a crusade, holding all of SOE responsible (apparently) for the actions of a single lone developer/coder (highly similar to the t20 conspiracy on EVE Online that happened in 2007 when a developer who was a member of the Band of Brothers alliance gave his people ten blueprints they shouldn't have had that gave them a major edge over everyone else in that game).

Well...LFG's crusade apparently pissed off SOE. Understandably, since he was basically accusing them all of being as corrupt as the rogue developer. Well...in response, SOE basically bitch slapped him and kicked his ass out of their Influencers program...and the letter was worded a lot nicer than I would've worded a letter to someone who did the same thing to me.

Well...LFG got booted from the Influencers, but is still LEGALLY BOUND to honor the NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) he signed when he joined the program, which apparently gave him access to private developer/GM/community rep information. Well apparently the letter of the law means little to LFG, who has permitted another member of this community (Snark, the other person at whom this is aimed) to post the PRIVATE INFORMATION (real names, business e-mails, in-game names, and other details) of many of the developers and such who had nothing to do with this.

Good job retards. Not only did you just break a legal and binding agreement, but you also created a whole lot of collateral damage by outing the information on innocent members of the SOE staff, such as Domino (what the hell has she done to deserve what you idiots just did to her?!) and Rothgar (same as Domino...he's done nothing to deserve your wrath).

Well LFG and Snark...you just got honored in your own Rate-a-Retard post for your antics at created drama that has encompassed not just one EQ2 server...but all of the servers and the company itself.

It's not a second account. This is my only account. Well...sorta. I had an original account, but it never got activated because the activation e-mail went to my spam box instead of my inbox and thus tossed.

But seriously...what LFG and Snark did is FAR more retarded than anything most of the other idiots you all have "honored" with posts in this forum. So...I felt LFG and Snark deserved to be "honored" as well.

It went the other way around soe booted eq2flames because they were tired of the personal attacks and uncensored material they couldn't control on this site. Everything the official forums is now. They don't want to read negative comments. So they disavowed eq2flames. LFG then said ok i am no longer bound by the rules for fan sites since we are now a rogue fansite. Any information that is no longer protected and public knowledge can be posted. All those past posts of people mentioning devs in npu, SoN, paradigm, those roleplaying guilds on antonia bayle no one cares about can now be more detailed and specific because there is no binding to protect those people anymore.

He only has to honor HIS agreement, if he doesn't disclose any of this information, then he is still very much well within the rights of the NDA. Snark can do whatever he wants, as he is not bound by any NDA, and if other people leak information to him, it is not Snark's fault, it is the fault of the OTHERs.

As for what started that, I believe someone (could've been Snark) posted developer information on the boards, LFG deleted it pronto (similarly to how everything that isn't giving SOE a virtual gobbie is deleted pronto at the official forums) and SOE got sand in their collective vagina.
