I think the elcora thing was a bit different.. They agreed to "not" roll on it before even joining the group, then Lding once they won it, then saying they petitioned to get it to the right guy etc etc...

This on the other hand was a blatant dick in the ass with no complimentary reach around, just because 2 people weren't 80.. Completely forgetting that without those people's help, drothar would have never killed that name nor saw a chest from it. I imagine if he wanted exclusive loot rights to that carotid, he should have formed a guild group to go instead of a pug.

Been like this ever since I can remember. I know a few times in raids where the RL forgot to set loot options and left it on lotto and opened the chest... everyone declined, changed loot options to leader only, and reopened the chest, and assigned it like normal.

Also the same if loot options are changed before the chest is opened.

I guess the OP could have always opened the chest right when it dropped and not gave the guy a chance to change loot opts.

No anap, its been changed. The leader can change the loot options even after the chest has been opened as long as the item has not actually been looted yet. So, for instance, if you leave it on lotto and someone opens the chest, you can change the options all the way up until everyone has either made their selection or the lotto timer has expired. Or in other words, as the leader, just let the timer run while you are changing options and it will take effect immediately.

In fact, look at the screen shot and it looks like thats what happened. Rimbault triggering the trap was him opening it. Then pyrotesss declined because she had obviously seen what the chest contained. Then the options were changed, and rimbault and the OP both went WTF most likely because their lotto screens disappeared on them (because he actually looted the cutter in the next line).

Can anyone answer my question about what class he is and what other classes / levels were in the group?

fuck it, i would have done the same thing NBG, and knowing what those two would have done is rolled on it, neither of then NEED it he did especially after 100 (exageration?) i still have only seen it drop twice, once a 76 ranger won it. and the next a guardian won it who had his fabled epic and said he would use it when he DPS's on raids........................

Offtopic probably! But before you start rooting and nuking something in an open zone, lock the damned encounter :P I break roots for heroic soloing people all the time if it's not locked, some learn!

Oh yeah and looting stuff like that (what the thread is about) is retarded!
