Hornfel is a member of The Black Knights and he has never acted inappropriately while with our guild. Which is more than I can say for some of our folks. He is using the armor. I will not support any black listing against him.

He can use it and it does improve his toon,you lost the roll get the fuck over it.

If he needs it to hold agro that is just fucking retarded. As stated before... just because he *can* use it does not mean he should. my necro can roll on the carroted cutter, but I wouldn't roll on it. Some fighter classes can use the sarnak hide buckler but they shouldn't.

And sorry if this is sub par drama :p it's all I have atm

you guys are all missing the point. If there are mages in the group, defer that piece to them, otherwise let the pally have his bottle.

And Elith, I didn't bring TBK into this for a reason. You guys are great, but it's a shame to see you support that guy.

The point is that you were in a pug group. You didn't say before the group "Pally, you don't get to roll on praetor's if it drops". (TBH: It was kinda lazy of you to not foresee that. /sarcasm end).

A. He's using the piece.
B. Its useable by paladins.
C. Its obviously an upgrade to what he had before.
D. It's a nice piece for pallies.

If you want people to defer loot to you because you think your class deserves it more, go do guild groups. PuG group won't give a shit if you got a sore pussy from having your candy taken away.

I don't know much about Pally spells, but if it's more or less like an SK, then I'd definately have rolled on Praetor's Guard. More Int = more damage = more hate. More crits = more damage = more hate. And the proc is a heafty amount of damage. It's a really nice item for a crusader. So you didn't get the uber drop on /rand. Cry more.

I can't even count the number of times that I had to run through CoA before Carotidcutter dropped for me and even then I had to compete with an Assassin, a Zerker and a Dirge for the item. I got lucky. A guildie of mine had been running through CoA several times a week for nearly a month before she finally looted Burdened Signet. She was losing to Fury's, SKs and other casters for weeks. I was shit on when I, as a Swashy, rolled on the leather Grim Shoulder Pads when there was a Bruiser in the group. Fact is, if you're in a PUG and you're looking at a drop that improves your DPS or survivability or whatever, you roll NEED and hope your dice are hot. Otherwise you grit your teeth and curse a blue streak to yourself before you plan your next trip into the zone. In a friend/guild group, I'm less selfish. In a PUG though, you're there for you. You don't owe anyone a thing. That's not being a shit, that's just the facts when in a PUG imo.

PS: However, a Pally that can't hold aggro with Amends is either asleep at the keys or tanking with their thumb up their arse tbh

There were 2 mages in the group with the pally. Me, a necro and a wiz. So I do a character search on eq2 players for pallys, necros and wizards at lvl 80 of any server. The pages have 20 people on them and *roughly* half are blocked.

The first page, I check all their gear (the ones who don’t have their profile blocked), and none of them use the praetor’s guard. Strange since both Onra and Dogmae say they’d use it. So I look them up and, nope, they’re not using it either.

5 Necros had it equipped (including Libnok and Blackcreeper)
4 Wizards had it equipped (including Legacystar)

so…. I will restate my point. It is a mage item and Hornfel is a dick for rolling on it.

They may not have it equipped because it hasn't dropped for them yet. It's a super rare drop, and yes, it is amazing for crusaders. My husband is an SK and we have been running VoES for months now trying to get it. I think the above posters are correct: if you really want the item that badly, make it clear BEFORE the group even starts that you are after a specific item. People will be understanding. Or better yet, guild-group it. PuG loot is a FFA for anyone who it is an upgrade for and will use it well. Stating that it is solely a mage item is just plain ignorance.

Or maybe it isn't equipped because they only use it in their DPS setup. Now before you bitch that it's something they may or may not be using all the time, I will remind you that you wanted this for your necro, a toon that you won't be playing all the time.

This item is great for crusaders, and for you to call it a mage item just because the few Crusaders you looked at didn't have it equipped at the time, is just stupid, and shows your lack of knowledge about those too classes.
