I'm an 80 paladin, and if it had dropped in a PUG when i ran, i would have rolled on it unless i'd already gotten something nice. I have a set of tank gear, healing gear, and dpsing gear. Just because i don't wear all my gear 100% of the time, it doesn't mean i don't use it when i roll as a support healer off tank, or dps, or what ever the case may be.

Also, Onra and Dogma are sporting rewards from high end raid zones, in which you need to refer to their second statement which was "it's not the best piece out there though". Since Horn is still building up his pali, obviously he's not rolling a matrons heart or a mythical weapon, or shield of the green dragon, or pre-nerf sallet of the reet knight, etc.

The paladin doesn't have a "this gear = the best" list like mages do, so we don't usually have a single piece of gear that rocks so hard on the int, agi, str, sta, wis, spell crit, melee crit, parry, mitigation, combat art damage, spell damage, and heal amount that it'd suit us well equally in healing mode, tanking mode, and in dpsing mode. Unless your the dedicated main assist or main tank, odds are you're swapping something somewhere at sometime.

Also, its a PUG. It was an upgrade, and it's not like you wont ever run voes again even though it may be a while before it drops again. I've ran with horn many times and for a long long time, and he's not the type to just loot something because it has the pali tag, or just to spite the mages. In conclusion, its a PUG and that type of thing just happens, it's still a good pali piece and thus not a ninja loot, and all that can be done is to just move on and start forming up the next voes run. I would always defer it to a guildmate in a guild group. In a pick up group, I would most definatly roll on the Preators Guard. It is not the BEST item in the game for its slot for a high end raider. However, it is still very close and has its uses. For this particular paladin it was an upgrade.

Looking up a crusader on station players is just dumb. We change gear out more than any other class in game. I would probably only use it 10% of the time. But we're not talking about me, I bet you will find that he will use it and get a very good result from it regardless of weither or not he sucks.

Point is, you do not understand this item nor the crusader class.

Let's look at it from another perspective.

If you (The O.P.) was group leader, and when the praetor's dropped, and you switched looting to leader only, and said something like: "
Useless whining bitch says to the group: "Mages /ran 1000 for the item, sorry pally, but you're not allowed to, go fuck off."

There would definitely be grounds for a RaR against you, and likely the consensus (as much as can be had) would be that you're a loot whoring idiot.

Its a nice piece for crusaders. The whole idea for putting off rolling on an item to someone else in the group, if you haven't already looted something, and you both can use the item, is if you (the person passing) will get a benefit by the other person getting the item. If the item raises your dps by 1%, then a guildie who you raid with regularly would benefit, in that what benefits one of your groupies benefits all of them.

But when its a PuG group, there is no requirement, because they won't be raiding with you, and thus, they gain no real benefit from passing on an item to you.

As has been said before, if I were a crusader in the group I would have rolled against you and not felt the slightest bit ashamed about it.

All you people telling me I don't understand the crusader class are correct. Also, I don't care to understand them becuse I don't play one nor am I in a position where I need to know how to play one.

Not once I have I ever said a crusader cannot use it. My point is he should have deferred the item to the mages. End of story. Lesson of the day - don't expect ettiqutte from PuGs.

stop being fucking ignorant, your in a PuG without stated rule's, example when creating a SoF group i make sure i tell ever person that if the neck piece drops it is mine, most dont care bc people rarely go there and they just wanna come, is the neck from sof good for any class no. Can other class use it sure, all class's i believe but sorc's is one of the class's that get the most benefit for it, so either announce before hand or stfu and get a guild group

I don't get why people bitch about loot in PUG's. Unless someone intentionally screws you out of a piece of armor, pretty much the only reason you're there is to get as much loot as possible.

Besides, not only was it usable by him, but it was a rather nice upgrade.
