I am going to leave his extremely poor tanking skills alone for the most part, but they are relevent to a certain degree.


See, today I was in a group with Horn on my necro, Abhoria, in voes when the Praetor's Guard dropped. Now this is an unbelievably rare drop (I have been camping the zone for months for it). So I said I needed it as did the only other mage in the group, a wizard. Now, to my surprise Horn said he was rolling on it. At first I thought he was joking, but he actually won it.


I understand that a pally *can* use the item, but it is much more beneficial for a mage, so imo he should not even have rolled. The only excuse he gave (and this is where his sub-standard tanking comes into play) is that he can't hold agro very well and it would help him do just that. Now, if he could tank worth a damn he wouldn't need to be rolling on mage items.

I dont play a tank so i wont understand, but can i ask this?
what does a paladin need +int and +4 crit for to hold agro?

They cast spells. So more spell damage = more hate.

Also, I would roll on this too in a pickup group.

I would have as well on my SK.

just an FYI for a pally +INT = harder hitting spells, same deal for +Crit... more damage = more hate.
Also it has a bad ass proc on it.

never played a pally before so i can see why he rolled on it, but still, i'd be pretty damn pissed off if i was constantly going into VOES and it finally drops and lost it to the MT >.<

*btw i know it has a proc on it but forgot pally's casted spells *

if you loose it to a warrior or brawler then raise hell.. if you lose it to a crusader they are essentially casters in plate

If I were a crusader in a PuG I would roll on it too.
A. Its a pug group, the other person's future groups/raids (if they raid) wouldn't benefit if you got the item.
B. It's still a really nice symbols item for a crusader imo.
C. They cast spells, so they do make use of the +crit and a proc off of spells.

It would have been better if he had said "I'm going to be rolling on praetor's guard if it drops" before going into instance, so that others could decide whether to stay or not.
