I asked in my group where i should stand, i hadnt raided in 3 months. no one answered me so i tried to stand near the steps with everyone else. I didnt know where to fucking go and i got feared. if it wasnt for the fear he wouldnt have died. Only other time in the zone anyone in my group died was on the last guy when he ae'd everyone and i spirit danced to get ppl up.

i thought the 30 plat was to kick lep from the guild??? didnt it say that in the first few posts?? oh wait that signature or some shit.. so no lep you didnt pay the guild 30 plat.. someone in that guild payed to have you kicked...

ouch. hell at least u are worth 30 plat.. would prolly only take 5 plat for em to kick me from my guild..

do people not realize how shitty all the fucking ambient sounds coming through their vent are? you with the goddamned birds, others watching a friends marathon in the background, chewing, belching, dogs, seriously...ventrilo has settings for these occasions. i have 2 dogs and nothing is worse than when someone else is talking on vent and their poorly trained mutts are going apeshit in he background. they continue to talk or worse start yelling at the dogs in the mic.

the only thing worse is how drunks want to tell you how drunk they are or potheads who want tell you how high they are. no one has ever given a shit in either case.

What I do instead of ask questions is just stand next to the most experienced healer who I know has a clue. If you are in a MT group, you stand with the other MT healer. If you are in the adds or dps group, you stand and do what the other adds or dps group healer is doing. Works like a charm, and never requires hand holding.

I'd be the last person to claim I am skilled in EQ2 or understand the encounters. I'm a busy person, and am ALWAYS multi-tasking with several things going on in the background when I raid. I think I'm just really good at faking basic competence, and only the people who know me understand I actually have no clue about how the game works.

But you don't need to be smart or understand game mechanics to play this game with minimally acceptable skill - all you have to do is halfway pay attention and kind of do what everyone else is doing, just related to your class instead of theirs.

P.S. I learned how to do this all the years I played without Vent, and it all seemed obvious to me. I still don't understand what the big deal about Vent is or why people need that to play.

It isn't. While I raid, I spend at least as much time dominating the server broker as I do raiding. You only need to concentrate and pay attention about 10 to 20 percent of the time while raiding.

I tried to ask but i would never get an answer. The group i was in was a sorta off tank maybe? scout dps group. swash, brig, guard, monk, dirge, mystic. i was not used to the way they set groups up or raided. i was trying to learn how they function but its hard to learn how they do stuff when there doing avatars (that i had never seen the new versions of) and honestly i couldnt even remember what the T7 avatars did.

Pinski - you should consider charging 100 p to let people raid with you for a day. You could then rank them on a scale of 1 to 10 for their class, and certify whether they suck or not. Might be a good service players could use to advertise to get into other guilds. Transfer fees are trivial to many people who just want to get into a good guild for the long term.
