Next day..same thing...next day...same thing...next day...same thing. Instances 3-5.
Later on in day #5, raid goes into SoH#1, and clears it. Using this lockout timer the OP is suggesting to be fair...they can now enter SoH#2 tomorrow and clear it. And the next day, and the next day....
So...you weren't being penalized. He wasn't being unreasonable. His biggest 'fault' was not doing what you wanted.

The bug is this...
5 people zone into an existing instance with a raid force.
3 of them get the timer from the instance. 3 day reset
2 of them get a new timer. 5 day reset
1 of the 2 get a GM to reset the timer.. Saying its a bug.
1 of the 2 gets a GM that says its working as intended and wont reset it.
So the first 3 CAN NOT reset the zone everyday. Trash mobs and named set your timer.
Just not knowing wtf timer your gonna get is the bitch of the whole thing.

I explained how it works, the real problem isn't knowing what timer you're going to get, but how retarded you are to not know what timer you're going to get.

So your lockout has expired(5 day lock, 9 day persistence) so you zone in. Now, which timer do you get? To prevent exploiting you get a brand new 5 day lockout, instead of taking over with the remaining 2 day lockout that somebody who hadn't been locked to the instance would have gotten.

Read that, that is EXACTLY how the lockout timers work, period.

Re: GM Hightower - SOE CS rep
So, in essence, the real problem is not knowing which GM you are going to get - the one who doesn't know how the timers work and will reset it for you, or the asshole who knows how timers work and won't reset it for you.

lol WTF man.. If that is EXACTLY how they work.. Then why the fuck did it give 3 people one timer and 2 another timer and have 1 GM say its a bug and another say its not.

Re: GM Hightower - SOE CS rep
The man enters the room. Mr Vibrating is sitting at a desk. Man Is this the right room for an argument?
Mr Vibrating I've told you once.
Man No you haven't.
Mr Vibrating Yes I have.
Man When?
Mr Vibrating Just now!
Man No you didn't.
Mr Vibrating Yes I did!
Man Didn't.
Mr Vibrating Did.
Man Didn't.
Mr Vibrating I'm telling you I did!
Man You did not!
Mr Vibrating I'm sorry, is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour?
Man Oh ... Just a five-minute one.
Mr Vibrating Fine (makes a note of it; the man sists down) thank you. Anyway, I did.
Man You most certainly did not.
Mr Vibrating Now, let's get one thing quite clear. I most definitely told you!
Man You did not.
Mr Vibrating Yes I did.
Man Didn't.
Mr Vibrating Yes I did.
Man Didn't.
Mr Vibrating Yes I did!!
Man Look, this isn't an argument.
Mr Vibrating Yes it is.
Man No it isn't, it's just contradiction.
Mr Vibrating No it isn't.
Man Yes it is.
Mr Vibrating It is not.
Man It is. You just contradicted me.
Mr Vibrating No I didn't.
Man Ooh, you did!
Mr Vibrating No, no, no, no, no.
Man You did, just then.
Mr Vibrating No, nonsense!
Man Oh, look this is futile.
Mr Vibrating No it isn't.
Man I came here for a good argument.
Mr Vibrating No you didn't, you came here for an argument.
Man Well, an argument's not the same as contradiction.
Mr Vibrating It can be.
Man No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements to establish a definite proposition.
Mr Vibrating No it isn't.
Man Yes it is. It isn't just contradiction.
Mr Vibrating Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
Man But it isn't just saying 'No it isn't'.
Mr Vibrating Yes it is.
Man No it isn't, Argument is an intellectual process ... contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says.
Mr Vibrating No it isn't.
Man Yes it is.
Mr Vibrating Not at all.
Man Now look! Mr Vibrating (pressing the bell on his desk) That's it. Good morning.
Man But I was just getting interested.
Mr Vibrating Sorry the five minutes is up.
Man That was never five minutes just now!
Mr Vibrating I'm afraid it was.
Man No it wasn't.
Mr Vibrating I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to argue any more.
Man What!?
Mr Vibrating If you want me to go on arguing you'll have to pay for another five minutes.
Man But that was never five minutes just now ... oh Come on!
(Vibrating looks round as though man was not there) This is ridiculous.
Mr Vibrating I'm very sorry, but I told you I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid.
Man Oh. all right. (pays) There you are.
Mr Vibrating Thank you.
Man Well?.
Mr Vibrating Well what?
Man That was never five minutes just now.
Mr Vibrating I told you I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid! Man I've just paid.
Mr Vibrating No you didn't.
Man I did! I did! I did!
Mr Vibrating No you didn't.
Man Look I don't want to argue about that.
Mr Vibrating Well I'm very sorry but you didn't pay.
Man Aha! Well if I didn't pay, why are you arguing ... got you!
Mr Vibrating No you haven't.
Man Yes I have ... if you're arguing I must have paid.
Mr Vibrating Not necessarily. I could be arguing in my spare time. Man I've had enough of this.
Mr Vibrating No you haven't.

With the new built-in chat system, I hope that we'll be able to verbally chat to CS Reps. There is something about chat text that makes it hard to see if they are really trying to be a smart ass.

Re: GM Hightower - SOE CS rep
If I understood the OP correctly, he was locked to an instance that didn't exist, because it had expired. he probably would have been happy to go into the old instance and try whatever names were left again. Thats pretty fucked up. Being locked to a non-existant instance is basically like the original lockout timers, which they made a decision to go away from.
But, the OP was also a dick to the GM which is probably why he refused to budge. When you get a ticket for rolling through a stop sign, is that how you try to talk the cop out of writing you?
But, i woulda also complained to his boss about freezing me in place. That's a supremely stupid thing to do. Especially when you are 'helping' them, or trying to deliver the message that they are not being punished.
