I've never seen a GM show up w/ out some sort of prefix before their name. Usually GM_<name>, or something like that. And bullshit about chasing and freezing someone. All they have to do is /summon or /goto. If that really was a GM, then ... I dunno. I'm not saying that you're lying, just that maybe someone else was yanking your chain. Or maybe the GM really was that sloppy.

No...he actually did that to me, unfortunately. I think I took screenshots....I at least should have logs. And yes, he had a GM prefix before his name.

Like I told my husband, I thought someone was yanking my chain as well when I froze up and couldn't move. I was *this* close to just closing the window when he popped up and stated he'd frozen me. Major WTF there.

I didnt read all the posts here but I noticed a lot of conflict on persistant zones.

Persistant zones were created so that the zone itself had a timer and at anytime you entered someone elses zone you recieved the zones timer hence being put on the same timer as that person. Only do to a buggy system are people recieving different timers then those who were in the zone before them.

It should have no bearing on comming in late or few days later and killing mobs. The zone itself has a timer base that should log to your persistant timer. I for one have never had this happen to me but every time I come to zone late or say I come help a friend finish a zone they had left often from the day before I recieve the same timer as the intial zone had.

The above goes for raids as well. Vp has never given me a different timer then what the zone created timer was even if I entered the next day because I missed the first floor or two.

This is not the only time I've seen a zone bug though. I have seen where everyone resets their timers go into a zone and it says this zone will expire in 00:00:00 and kicks you out. This has resulted in some of my guild getting 30 min lockout timers forcing the rest of the raid to wait for that to expire to get into a good instance of the zone.

Persistent Timers should be for the zone and not for the person.. IE if the zone expires in 2 days then the person who raided (whether or not it was with the original party) should not get a timer that is beyond when the zone expires. This would prevent him from zoning back in for trash mobs or whatever.. It definately has to be a bug according to the other stories where 2 different characters were in the same situation but got lockouts of different times. This GM might be a nice guy but I think he must have been confused on what actually happened.

So you're saying that as long as there's an instance open, any person, regardless of the last time they cleared that zone, should be allowed to enter and clear it?

That is not what I am saying. Here is an example of what I meant.

Day 1 instance is raided but Blow Joe was not on the raid.
Day 3 Raid group goes back for trash mobs and this time Blow Joe joins thus starting his 5 day timer
Day 5 instance expires
Day 6 Blow joe still has his 5 day timer where he should be able to clear trash but instance expired.
Day 8 Blow joe's timer expires and now he can reset his timer.

There are 3 days there where he cant A) go back for trash because the zone expired B) reset his timer so he can start over. My point is that blow joe's timer should be able to be reset when the instance expires (5 days from the initial raid). Makes sense to me. Who knows.

I still don't see how that closes the loophole.
Joe Blow could join a raid on day 4 of the timer, clear the zone with the raid, wait for the zone to expire, reset timers, then go raid again by your method.

So what if he does? Someone still has to open the initial instances. Even if he had 6 accounts, and opened an instance every day, and went into each one on the last day and cleared it, he still wouldn't be able to go farm this instance every day for as long as he pleased.

Wait. Yeah he would. Fuck that shit. But its still way fucked up that there is dead time when a person is locked to an instance but cannot get into it. It seems like they are punishing people who aren't on the raid when the instance is opened.
