I'm going to have to say I agree with him to a degree. I wouldn't go as far as saying it's an exploit, but I would agree that things aren't working quite as intended.

The sprint mechanics were designed for characters to use to escape a fight gone bad if they didn't have the ability to evac. They put a power cost on it so that people couldn't use it to boost their runspeed at all times and cheapen/remove the need for mounts. That's how I believe it was designed.

VM I believe was designed to give a DPS boost to chanters when fights went long and their mana was getting close to spent to allow them to end the fight before the group was OOP and wiped. It's just like the Warrior end ability in the Str tree that gives them a huge crit/+CA damage boost when their health gets low.

The mechanics of the 2 abilities taken individuall is working as intended, it's specifically the combination of the 2 that is not intended, hence the upcoming change.

i understand what your saying and my coercer is only 64 so i can't say im all knowledgeable about raiding in RoK but VM contributes to a large ammount of damage coercers do raid wise while i see your point about when the coercers low on power it being an added boost to help them, if that was the case why do you see so many coecers spamming sprint?

mana/power whatever ya wanna call it is incredibly easy to get back for us as coecers if sprint wasn't spammed so we could use VM then are damage would be pathetic

Alot of coercers have stated anywhere from 10-15% of there damage comes from VM and the only way to keep that damage seems to be from sprint i mean i don't get it if it wasn't intended why not just have sprint not work in combat and force the person to yell so they are out of combat then sprint ?

it seems to me the devs have said shit...

The int line for coercers is auctally useful /nerf bat

the thing im dislike is people calling it an exploit/hack its working around what was implemented, its just another bad game design and anyone calling it a hack/exploit deserves to be branded the title

It is a hack/exploit. That is why SOE is changing it in an upcoming update.

I'm not a squishy, so maybe I shouldn't say anything but, this seems to be a case of semantics just like the Daray thing. How can it be an exploit if you aren't changing the way the game works? It boils down to clever peeps figuring out how to use game machanics and designed abilities to their maximum advantage and that's what separates the good players from the bad IMO.

It's not a hack or an exploit. It's an unintended use of game mechanics. For those of you saying it's a hack you're fucking dumb. Then again, it doesn't take talent to stay below 30% either.

Even though the ability is doing exactly what it claims to? I'm sorry, but they shouldn't be placing abilitys into the game without considering the pre-existing mechanics.

Should it be fixed? Yes.

Is it an exploit? No.
