3. Do you KNOW what the reason for the lockdown is? Or are you just stamping your foot like the "Angry German Kid"?
I'd like to direct your attention to the response made a couple posts later on the official forums

Quote:
3) When a mob is on "lockdown" by a guild it means like contested Mayong is perma camped and instantly killed as soon as he pops. It means one guild has Avatars camped and killed as soon as they spawn. And my comment about the dev's GM's having them locked down, means dev's and gm's are playing in that guild. Do you even play this game?

I'm sorry, but you have to be severely fucking mentally deficient if you can't figure out what "lockdown" means.

Seriously.

1. Venril Sathir IS one raid. Hardly a complete breakdown in the raid system.

It's one raid that happens to be a bottleneck between t1/t2 and t3/t4. If it's so buggy people can't get past it, it disrupts raid progression as it was intended.

I'm not going to have a cow over these issues and I'm certainly not going to roast Knob-ring's balls for his response. Save it up for something a little more worthy imo.

The particulars of the discussion are not as important as the point that his answer to the post reflects a lack of thought towards the ramifications of his behavior. It doesn't matter how justified you feel his response is - it wasn't the right thing to do.

Off the clock, visit Customers Suck! and vent there, or start a blog.

But on the clock, I would expect that kind of a response from someone on their last day of a job.

The game will always have flaws and problems that are frustrating and disappointing and no matter what you do. But even so, there are a lot of people out there who are both working and volunteering their time to try to make it better.

Had Gnobrin's post been a blog, it would only have reflected on his own pique. But a response like that in the forums, from someone who is supposed to be in charge of community relations, was not only disrespectful to the player, but all of those people who do put in time and work hard to try to keep things positive.

What is a bit sad about it is that I get the impression his intent was to defend those people, but personal irritation ruled out the positive that could have been attempted there.

The way the lockdown question was worded implied that the devs were specifically locking or otherwise making the encounters unable to be engaged.

This is very different from simply asserting that guilds which are suspected of having developers as members are able to perma-camp certain encounters, with the implication being that these guilds are able to do so due to inside information provided by the developers.

However, with regards to the implied meaning of the question, Gnobrin should not have even dignified such a loaded question with a response. It's the equivalent of asking if you've stopped beating your wife.

if you look at the question asked before that one, theres no way you can feign ignorance. it wasnt a loaded question, it was a loaded answer.

if the wife question is rather simple. if you never beat your fucking wife, you can simply answer 'ive never beat my wife'

you fail at analogies, but succeed at SOE dick suckage.
