This entire debate is based on the foundation that death is something to mourn over, in real life or on internets. The fact is though, that that idea is based primarily on peoples' life experiences.

Simply put, death isn't something that you mourn to for a lot of people, and so its very easy through jokes to keep the passing of someone from descending into a time of sadness.
