You more than handled the guy. You did it with whit, style and made us laugh. You would have polls cropping up every day and make it a nightmare for you and Cal. Besides, after the heat cools down, some people actually find some common ground and laugh it off.

The problem is, I don't know how to cook, and have never used a stove. If I can't buy it in a restaurant, have it delivered to my door, or served through the window of my vehicle, I don't eat.

I see no reason to ban people for any reason other than what is specifically stated in the rules you've outlined.

I voted heck no. The community will generally self-moderate, and you can always ban the worst abusers. But they add color and alternate POV. And, at the risk of being accused of dirty pool, banning offenders is more the style of the SOE baords. Here, you are free(ish) to speak your opinion.
