Not sure if y'all noticed, but the info posted by Aeralik was pretty high quality, and I've not seen anything similar in the dev tracker notes. Aeralik knows PvP.

I'm just hoping that when devs choose to post here, we can all be normal (to the extent that's possible) and not bombard their posts with unrelated issues.

I'm not criticizing anyone in this case, please nobody make defensive comments, I'm just asking this community to try and stay reasonably on topic when specifically addressing dev comments, rather than bringing up a ton of unrelated things. I think that encourages them to post more, and makes the quality of their information that much more useful for us all.

I honestly don't KNOW why I keep trying to correct you. Maybe it's just the sheer need to shed light in an obviously ignorant mind. At least it can be said I rarely add something. What do you add besides a greater awareness of the need for reading comprehension?

Got news for you toots. I'm not here to impress you or anyone else. I'm here because this is the only EQ2 place I can say what I think.

Wait wait wait...*I* add negativity to a flames site? I've been so blind...

That's it! Every other post from me today on this site is going to be roses and sunshine (after this one).

I agree, don't bombard the Dev's and Programmers that do post here. Maybe we should have "Ask a Dev" Section put here in the boards? Not that they are obligated to answer, but if they could give answers, maybe we should have a section devoted to it?

Someone at SOE needs to help me understand something. By all appearances SOE does not recognize this as a legit affiliated site. I beleive this because any mention of it on their official forums gets deleted in a New York Minute. Then how can they justify posting here? It sounds like the mods on this site welcome the Dev participation, but doesn't it seem a bit odd that they would actually post here based on their actions on the soe forums?

Not really. First, SoE doesn't have Affiliate sites like Vanguard. Second, Devs post all the place, especially guild forums.

IMO the major reason EQ2Flames is a bad word on the Official Forums is because of the behavior of a few EQ2Flames users over there. As usual, a few people ruined it for everyone.

That is a great question Broomhilde! Thank you for asking it!

I don't think SOE needs to recognize the site in order for a developer to post on it. If I remember correctly, and someone please feel free to straighten me out if I don't, the FoH site isn't recognized but MG would post there all the time.

It's also important to remember the Developers don't seem to have much involvement in what goes on with the official forums policies.

That's a big point I hadn't thought of. Developers use the forum, but don't run it.

I think this is a good idea. However, I'm sensitive to the fact that this community often disagrees with what I think are good ideas, and I honestly and sincerely want to try and run this board like a Democracy, at least to the greatest extent that's possible. Maybe it isn't, but I'll keep trying.

So I'm adding a poll to this post:

Do you want a "Ask a Dev" MODERATED section on this board, where players could ask actual questions for devs, and which would be MODERATED to keep the posts in that thread on topic in the event a dev replied? Keep in mind, it will be very unlikely that devs will respond in most threads if we created a section like this. But to maximize the possibility of their response, we'd also have to give them the real opportunity to say what they wanted without getting beaten and horsewhipped by people angry about other issues.

So the poll will run a week, votes will be public, and the choice is either:

Yes, put up a moderated forum for on topic questions and answers from devs or

No, just leave things like they are.

Please nobody go off on me for making this effort if you think it's a bad idea. I just think it's a good idea and am trying to promote reason and make things better between players and SoE to the greatest extent possible.

One main reason I created this site was to shorten the distance of understanding between players and SoE. I think a "Ask a Dev" section could help do that, if devs chose to participate in it. I would guarantee on topic posts and fair treatment in that section, if this vote is approved by users of this site.
