I just dont get the guy. One minute he's spending loads of what was probably SE bought plat to buy his way into one guild on this server, ripping off another on that server, apping to anothing on another server, and then in some raid guild on a pvp server.

I don't think you can move a toon from one account to another unless both accounts were originated by the same person. Either way how fucking pathetic of a guild is NPU for accespting someone like this?

I've been very surprised to see other people do this before - in most cases after a call to customer service. Cracatoa did this with a berzerker on someone else's account, after the person who loaned the account to Amend tried to reclaim it. That berzerker was gone from the account in less than 15 minutes after the owner logged on. I don't know how that could be possible, but my understanding is it can be done if you can talk someone in Customer Service into over riding the system. I'm not sure what the "magic story" is though.

No, pretty sure the names on the original credit cards used have to be the same to move a toon to another account or something like that. Would be pretty funny if the toon was taken back.

I would like to suggest there is a moral to the story here.

Don't buy or sell accounts or characters outside of Station Exchange, and then none of this will ever happen.

How many of us haven't heard this same basic story 200 times now since EQ? Obviously, a very very large number of accounts "sold" end up being taken back by the person who initially registered the account. SoE's system permits that, and I can't say I blame them, it's all headache and no money to them when someone does this. People do this shit at their own risk.

But now more than ever, the temptation for a buyer to dispute a charge is higher than ever. Credit card companies, and Paypal, will reverse almost any charge without proof of a signature. It's not hard to get a charge reversed, you just need to dispute it using an on line form from your credit card company, I've done this before in non-MMO related disputes without ever using a telephone.

I feel sorry for people who get ripped off, really I do, but the risk of getting ripped off, and the temptation for a seller to rip you off (and now also buyers by disputing the charge) is extremely high. The risk of getting ripped off in one of these transactions is as high as a blind street corner drug buy.

The solution is simple: it's like if you want a 100% certainty you will never get a DUI, just don't drink. If you don't want an extremely high risk you will get ripped off, just don't sell your account, or buy anyone else's.
