Meh. I dunno if I qualify for the NGD clique or not. I don't think I do, but I guess opinions will vary. But here goes...

In my personal opinion, suspension of your personal posting account when you assume mod duties would resolve most of the conflict of interest issues. If you post ONLY as your mod identity, it is easier for others to glean any potential conflict of interests or favoritism from your behavior, thus allowing for more culpability for one's actions.

I also think that hiring an actual mod(S) is more professional, and sidesteps nearly all these issues entirely. But evidently that is not an option.

And I think that the loss of anonymity is a huge blow to any mod, because quite simply, while that mod might be able to perfectly separate their mod "hat" from their general "hat", this thread has proven that many (if not most) cannot. A percieved conflict of interest is quite nearly as bad for PR and smooth operations as an actual one.

Just an opinion, of course.....

Great to see you here Shipwreck. Hope you stick around beyond this thread. I personally consider you an "NGD Regular" but not an "NGD Retard" lol. You do post there alot, but you tend to steer away from the derailing and nonsense that tends to go on.

Arthias and Radar - quit fighting. I hate the TTH vs. Caster's bullshit, and if I have to seperate you two to limit that perception...by god I will. Unless one of you renouces your respective fansite, it's going to look like that issue again and if you think that this site is "anonymous" and not viewed by the people who brought UP that issue - yer sadly mistaken.

Also - note that I am now in my skin and not under the "clever assumed name" that I was trying to fool Gaige with.
