I think it was a great idea. Gives me some kind of idea who is fucking me over. I might also add that it caused me to have more respect for at least one of the people listed. Fuck me to my face if you want, but doing it behind my back is shitty. I applaud this "outing."

You know, this raises an interesting point.

If the mods are supposed to be anon, their identity presumably should be known only to themselves and SOE.

So if you KNOW the truth for certain, how do you know?

The way the names were gathered, I assume, was through observation and guesswork.

The only way for you to KNOW, for certain, is if you were told by someone. Which means that somebody's been talking when they shouldn't have.

This right there proves a fundamental lack of integrity in the system. If you KNOW (emphasis yours, not mine) then somebody told. And if either the mods, or the SOE employees, are giving away confidential, intentionally secret information to NON staff, this just goes to prove my point.

If it's anonymous, it's anonymous for a reason, and if you KNOW, then whoever is supposed to be keeping it secret, isn't.

edit: and I, like you, also KNOW for certain a few things. And the reason I KNOW, is the same reason you KNOW, someone, or someones said things they shouldn't have. Neither you nor I SHOULD know. But we do. That right there is symptomatic of a problem.

Ok but Art if the mod's don't have a list of guidelines or okay we'll use your word ethics then who is to say they can't say who they are?!? You don't know, I don't know, no one knows but the mods and the red names for sure oh b/c it's not listed anywhere. I for one don't just believe what is told me but rather prefer to see it for myself. Want to see how easy this is? I'm a mod! Elaine is a mod! Khalan is a mod! And they are mods b/c I KNOW they are mods b/c I'm telling you they are!!!

Well, you kind of make my point Nurta.

Either there are guidelines but, as radar insist, he KNOWS who they are, then those guidelines are not being enforced.

Or they're not there. Which is in itself a problem because if the "anonymous" moderators can, as a matter of policy, identify themselves to whom they chose to and not to those they do not chose to, we're right back to conflict of interest.

So if Radar truly, factually, knows who they are, then either the guidelines aren't there, but should be, or are not being enfored, but should be.

I can't say for sure which. Neither seems a pleasant option. The alternative is to suggest Radar is lying, and i have no reason to believe he is.

No my point is it doesn't matter b/c none of us but the mods and red names know for sure b/c it's not listed who is who. And by that same fact, there is no code of conduct posted for the mods to say they can't say who they are nor is there one stopping me saying soandso is a mod. I personally would be highly suspect of anyone who told me they were a mod or suchandsuch was a mod. Do you know what's funny, I never cared and I went rounds with a few of the mods and what's funnier I went rounds with some of the supposed mods outed here whom you or others might think would show me favoritism! Which again is what this boils down to again, an implied sense of favoritism.
