Actually, I spent a few days in deep discussion with Echgar about posting rules, netiquette, and getting your point across on a message board without coming across as a obnoxious know-it-all or blathering idiot.

Did I like it at the time? Nope, because he consistantly pointed out where I let my emotions get the better of me, he even linked posts where I said the same thing 5 different times in 5 different ways. I hated having my worst traits laid out in front of me for me to see, and to admit that he was right. I hated that part the most.

It took me a few weeks, and some discussions with other people, to realize that not only was Echgar not an evil person who was only out to prove me wrong, but that he was right about everything he said in regards to me. I re-read the PM's between us, and took his words to heart. This is why my posting habits have changed.

Sure I still occassionally let my emotions get the best of me, and sometimes I post when I shouldn't. but for the most part, I think I am conducting myself much better on the message boards.

Echgar is the best they have. Very respectful, and professional guy. I can't remember ever seeing him get too personal with his moderating.

Agreed, wholeheartedly. I think Echgar is one of the finer moderators I've come across in my *mumbles a number* years playing on the net.

I may be an ass, I may be abrasive, egotistical, condescending and obnoxious, but I admit to it, and I don't try to pretend to be something I'm not, or act like I'm anything else but, while doing the same things that I attack others for.

And, having said that little diatribe, that is my particular last word on the matter.

I guess you could say that. Its more like I had a realization after the fact (it was actually a couple of weeks after Echgar and I had spoken) after speaking with another friend about the issue. I went back and read what Echgar had said and realized he wasn't saying the things he was saying to be an ass or prove himself right/prove me wrong. He said the things he said because he honestly wants to see the forums be a constructive place, and I think he liked the things I did offer when I wasn't being a raging bitch and distrupting every post I got my hands on.
