I believe only Raijinn has actual ban power. Maybe the senior moderators as well, but I don't know for sure. From what I was told from either Starry or Echgar (can't remember who told me) was that Raijinn was the one who gave me my 3 day vacation.

Pretty sure mods can't ban, only Raijnn can do that (well any red name, I guess).

The problem isn't with mods playing, it's with players becoming mods without any real reason not to be incredibly one-sided. If, for instance, they actually had paid employees posting as mods, with their actual job and income as incentive to not be completely biased with everything, then there would not be as much fo an issue. The issue is that they assigned already known and highly opinionated posters as mods, and that was not only a horrible choice from a community relations standpoint, but also pretty shitty business practice.
