So that katana ... traditionally the bamboo fittings are used to hold a really good and valuable blade. Is that the case here, or did you buy it like that at a ren faire? Whats the japanese say?

Ehh its a sirasaya, basically just a protective case for the blade (functional/battle mounting with a tsuba, a usable grip and scabbard were actually damaging to the sword). Don't think I've been taught/read anything about the wood type being related to blade quality. The script on the sirasaya itself is supposed to denote details of the sword.

Maybe. Its been like ten years since I've had anything to do with learning that shit, so yeah its possible I'm talking out of my ass and am wrong.

WTF LEB!!! I could've made a totally pimp movie with Poser by now, complete with ninja costumes, nazi daggers, cedar trees, body guards.. the works! (But I'm just too lazy for that shit, as well as rusty.)

Tbh darlin' I don't remember what it says, I got it so long ago, I think, if i remember rightly it was about the blade itself and the distructive power..but don't quote me.

I brought that, this year, at the Anime Convention I go to, London Expo ftw!
